roe2ship Posted May 11, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 11, 2004 I just love the those stylish glasses with the trendy colors as a cocktail before dinner. Does Princess offer a wide variety of Martinis? Any particular one that is so delicious and should not be missed? Thanks Caribbean Princess 7/03/

SissyG Posted May 11, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 11, 2004 Crooners on the Island Princess had tons of wonderful sounding martinis, we tried the Dean Martin, it is a dirty martini, olive juice and 4, yes 4 whopper olives, a sour apple martini, YUM, a lemon martini, glass was rimmed in sugar crystals, my friend fell in love with the banana martinis, didn't sound good to me, but she loved them. ASHerren Posted May 12, 2004 #10 Share Posted May 12, 2004 ahracer, Celebrity has a martini called a French Martini that has Vodka, Chambord and a splash of pineapple juice - Is this similar to the Vodka and Chambord that Princess has - it was yummy. Also Celebrity had a citris martini - sounds similar to the lemontini. I loved them both...I can't wait. rothsix Posted May 12, 2004 #11 Share Posted May 12, 2004 My wife liked the Very Berry Martini. I liked the Chairman of the Board. I've been looking for a drink she'd like and have now found one. Now I can work on getting her "liquored up" so I can take advantage of her Derrick First Anniversary on the Sun Princess in One last cruise before the anklebiters come along. rob_ n_tam Posted May 12, 2004 #12 Share Posted May 12, 2004 I think the martini with vodka and chambord is called the Midnightini. Very yummy! I found the prices to be very reasonable at less than $5.00 each.

CruiseFever Posted May 12, 2004 #16 Share Posted May 12, 2004 Ok here's a question for you martini lovers I don't drink hard liquor ( I think you're only allowed to drink just so much in a lifetime and I took care of that in college) and think of Martinis as simply cold shots of booze which is about as appealing as drinking gasoline to me. Is there some kind of Martini of all those mentioned here or readily available that are smooth and tasty for someone like me with a kid-like pallate? Or is there some code word that bartenders know and I don't that would tell them to put water in my glass and I will pretend to be joining the crowd? bjboothman Posted May 13, 2004 #17 Share Posted May 13, 2004 At Crooners on the Coral I bought a deck of playing cards, each of which is a martini recipe. The Midnightini Express is 4 parts stolichnaya vodka, and 2 parts chambord. Lemontini is 5 parts absolute citron, 1 part sweet & sour. My favorite was the bishop's mitre - 4 parts stoli, 1 part grand marnier and 1 part orange juice. If anyone wants another recipe, let me know and I'll see if it's on the cards. Tania Posted May 13, 2004 #18 Share Posted May 13, 2004 We also like the Chairman of the Board. Try the Chambord with Absolut Kurrant. Divine. Emeril makes it topped with white grapes semi-dipped in white chocolate, served with shortbread. Superb dessert for dinner party with martini afficionados. Paisley Park is also a favourite. jfishe Posted May 13, 2004 #19 Share Posted May 13, 2004 Chris - the secret to a good martini is good vodka... cheap vodka will not help that 'kid-pallate'. And probably a sweeter one would do wonders... even something as simple as a Cosmopolitan ! Remember... good vodka is key ! And of course, you'll get many different opinions on 'good vodka'. My preference ? Grey Goose *** Jodie *** "is it happy hour yet ?"
