cruisediva0621 Posted June 28, 2016 #1 Share Posted June 28, 2016 Wondering if NCL Dawn's MDR's The Venetian and Aqua have the same menus? Do you recommend one over the other? Any advise is much appreciated! Thanks in advance :)
khaide612 Posted June 28, 2016 #2 Share Posted June 28, 2016 The menus in both MDRs will change each day but should be similar to each other. The Venetian is the more formal, larger dining room which has a more formal dress code.
Demonyte Posted June 28, 2016 #3 Share Posted June 28, 2016 Yes, the daily changing menus in all MDRs are the same. They did have small differences before but that was dropped one or two menu revisions ago.
zqvol Posted June 28, 2016 #4 Share Posted June 28, 2016 Menus are the same, the difference is in the dress code.

nautica34 Posted July 6, 2016 #8 Share Posted July 6, 2016 How strict is the dress code in the Venetian? I saw the general dress code on the website but not the MDR
hladygirl Posted July 6, 2016 #9 Share Posted July 6, 2016 How strict is the dress code in the Venetian? I saw the general dress code on the website but not the MDR Basically there are no shorts or flip flops allowed. Women can wear the fancy flip flops and get away with it. Men can not wear tank tops. The attire is basically not grubby but smart casual. No need to get all dressed up, just look decent.
megansdad1 Posted July 6, 2016 #10 Share Posted July 6, 2016 (edited) I was just off of the Dawn. I wasn't aware of the dress code at the Venetian. I wore nice golf shorts and a polo and nothing was said to me. Edited July 6, 2016 by megansdad1

PCLMassachusetts Posted July 6, 2016 #12 Share Posted July 6, 2016 I was just off of the Dawn. I wasn't aware of the dress code at the Venetian. I wore nice golf shorts and a polo and nothing was said to me. While in Bermuda the dress code is different. "Bermuda shorts" are allowed which are basically golf shorts. Demonyte Posted July 6, 2016 #14 Share Posted July 6, 2016 How much is a bottle of water onboard? About $5 + 18% for either 1 liter bottle of still water or 0,75 liter bottle of sparkling water.
mdhaugh Posted July 6, 2016 #15 Share Posted July 6, 2016 I'd love to see any of the new menus if anybody has them! Did they change for specialty restaurants (and suite guests), too? thank you!
Barb Nahoumi Posted July 6, 2016 #16 Share Posted July 6, 2016 Menus are the same, the difference is in the dress code. And the ambiance of the venue. The Venetian is larger, more decorative with huge windows along sides and back of the restaurant.

IrishMoe Posted July 7, 2016 #18 Share Posted July 7, 2016 (edited) Does anyone know if O'Sheehan's will have the late night buffet that the Blue Lagoon had? The younger crowd in our group used to like the late night chicken wings. I see they are on the menu to order but was curious about the buffet. Thanks, Maureen Edited July 7, 2016 by IrishMoe
amberjohn Posted July 7, 2016 #19 Share Posted July 7, 2016 O'Sheehan's works the same as the Blue Lagoon did. It is a 24 hour restaurant with a larger menu.

phoenix1181 Posted July 8, 2016 #22 Share Posted July 8, 2016 I'm confused........... And the ambiance of the venue. The Venetian is larger, more decorative with huge windows along sides and back of the restaurant. The Venetian is the same size it's always been & the windows have always been there. It looks a heck of a lot better than it did but the changes are strictly cosmetic Does anyone know if O'Sheehan's will have the late night buffet that the Blue Lagoon had? The younger crowd in our group used to like the late night chicken wings. I see they are on the menu to order but was curious about the buffet. Blue Lagoon had a buffet? When? We've been on the Dawn for the past 4 years and never saw a buffet!
IrishMoe Posted July 8, 2016 #23 Share Posted July 8, 2016 Well buffet is probably the wrong choice of words. Late at night they always had steam buffet trays of burgers, wings and a few other things. The kids in our group always went down late at night for the wings. They were usually down there between 12 and 1 am.

don't-use-real-name Posted July 8, 2016 #25 Share Posted July 8, 2016 Before the Dry Dock upgrades the Blue Lagoon was the 24 hour place for food. I don't recall any buffet being set up but your basic Coney island fare of dogs and burgers fries was there. Pizza was by Room Service. I think for the most part the Market Buffet closed around 11 pm and opened for breakfast around 4 am. Check the dailies for detailed information. Now the Blue Lagoon (starboard) and the Moderno (port) on deck 8 is now O'Sheehan's . Blue Lagoon is no more and Moderno moved to deck 13 next to Cagneys and Sugar Cane Mohito Bar. O'Sheehan's is now the 24 restaurant.
