telebax51 Posted July 24, 2016 #276 Share Posted July 24, 2016 I'm old school which mean if there is a dress code or if not when i go out clubbing, restaurant, concerts etc. I am dressed to aT that is who i am. Elegant day or MDR suit and tie, i have to say though when i see a beautiful woman decked out walking down the corridor with her DH walking next to her with wrinkle pants and shirts no tie. I know what my DW would tell me ( your not going with me looking like that I'll meet you there ) maybe more wives should say that
crusinpsychRN Posted July 24, 2016 #277 Share Posted July 24, 2016 I am not a fan of the art auctions and I fear they rip off unsuspecting passengers. If some kind of art program is essential, have work by the artists commissioned to create work for the ships and include artists from ports visited by the ship. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD Great idea.
crusinpsychRN Posted July 24, 2016 #278 Share Posted July 24, 2016 I still want to see them change how they calculate the fare for each passenger. Make it based on weight. It is the only equitable way to do it. Fat people weigh more and thus cause the ship to use more furl. They eat more and this the food cost is higher. They sweat like a hooker in church so they need need bed linens every day and that increases cost. Plus they are slow and block everyone else on the ship form moving around. In fact there out to be a maximum weight and girth for any given passenger. You must be kidding.

Do we need to get a physical before we purchase our tickets, and get weighed in at embarkation to finalize the fare  Should we also get weighed before we disembark so they can FAT tax everybody :p (most of us anyways :))
ducklite Posted July 24, 2016 #280 Share Posted July 24, 2016 I know what you mean. I have rheumatoid arthritis and some days I can't get out of bed while other days I can move much more easily. Because my joints are now enlarging and starting to look abnormal most people believe that I am disabled but I had pain and mobility difficulties for a long time before the visible changes occurred. For the most part people are kind. It is only an occasional a****** who gives any Flack. In all fairness to those people I have myself on occasion wondered when I see a disabled person and their 9 family members all board Southwest Airlines flight without paying the early bird fee because they accompany the disabled person. I actually have difficulty walking to the back of the plane but I pay the early bird fee so that I can board early enough to get a seat near the front. I don't like having to announce I'm disabled to strangers unless I must. The other airlines don't have an early bird check-in allowing people to sit closer to the front so I do have to call them in advance and ask for seating near the front of the economy section. Fortunately WN has clamped down on that nonsense and now only allow one cares to board with an elderly or disabled, the rest of the party must board with their appropriate group. The only exception I have seen was a woman with her very elderly (grandmother?) traveling companion and also a younger child--maybe around 4-5. Of course they weren't going to make the child wait to board. I recently saw them send two teenagers back to their group when a woman tried to board with her mother and two daughters. The overly entitled mother was having a hissy fit, but the gate agent stood fast on it. The teens seemed mortified. I also saw them tell a large family group (had to be a dozen if them) who all tried to board with gram that they needed to choose one person to board with her, and the rest could board with their group. ScottJames Posted July 24, 2016 #281 Share Posted July 24, 2016 With all due respect. You make absolutely no sense. It's not a question about being FORCED to be amongst smoke. A person smoking in the casino, and has the smoke leave to the promenade deck a person has no control over. Or, a person, disregarding the no smoking on the balcony rule, smokes next to someone who doesn't want to be around smoke isn't being FORCED to be there. They are where they are supposed to be minding their own business. With regards to alcohol and a person's liver, that only, without a doubt affects the drinker liver and no one else's. You are wrong. I am FORCED to be around people who drink in excess up to 15 drinks. They become obnoxious and in many cases dangerous. My cousin was killed sitting in a bar by an overly drunk man because he didn't like the way he looked. I have seen many a fight on cruise ships and they are ALWAYS drunk and someone ALWAYS gets hurt. I don't think by you walking by someone smoking it's going to kill you

DH always wants to look spiffy. Starched shirt, clean, pressed suit, polished dress shoes, silk tie on formal night. Chinos straight from the cleaners with tight creases, polished loafers, and ironed shirt on casual nights. Sometimes he just needs a bit of help matching colors and prints. No, a kelly green shirt does not look good with those moss green chinos! No, you cannot wear a striped shirt with those plaid shorts! People, please please please get your clothes cleaned. On our last cruise some men were wearing suits that smelled of cedar or mothballs and others smelled like they have never been cleaned after a lifetime of going commando! Rock_Dr Posted July 25, 2016 #287 Share Posted July 25, 2016 ENFORCE the policies they have. We are just off the pride and the Lido restaurant was full of hairy men without shirts and both men and women without shoes. Seeing a hairy man leaning over the buffet made me gag. Seeing people with bare feet up on tables and chairs is disgusting. Any staff member should be able to ask them to leave, that simple. I would also like all ships to be smoke free. They may loose 20% of the population that smokes but they would make that up with people who don't cruise because of the smoke.

Cuervosar Posted July 25, 2016 #291 Share Posted July 25, 2016 I would like to see a gluten free area in the dining room. I would like to see transgender bathrooms. I would like to bring my dog. I think that if two ships leave the port on the same day, they should drag race out. I think Diamond members should get their own elevator. I think if we are going to stagger boarding, first time cruisers go last. I think all my alcohol should be free. I think it's fine to wear shorts in the MDR on "elegant" night but if you do, you have to skip a lap of the dining room while singing the Pippi Longstocking song. I think cruise critic members should all wear special hats while on board. I think I should get a try parking the ship. I think that for one night, I clean the room of my cabin attendant. I think bathing suits should be reviewed by a licensing committee before certain people are allowed to go out in public.

Cuervosar Posted July 28, 2016 #300 Share Posted July 28, 2016 I just spoke with John Heald about these and he has promised to make it happen. Excellent, and thanks for introducing me to his blog. I had no idea. Hmm, now if he actually had the power to let me have a go parking the ship and could enforce the Pippi Longstocking rule in the MDR I might actually be convinced to give up my Aft Cabin Wraparound Balcony on the MSC Seaside for something comparable on the Vista. It was curiosity about the Vista and Carny in general that brought me here. Seaside is still dead sexy though.
