mufc99 Posted July 4, 2016 #1 Share Posted July 4, 2016 We are about to book our flights and it will have us landing in FtL at about 6pm Thurs prior to our cruise on the Saturday. At this stage our plan is a quick change at the hotel, then drinks and food on the street Thurs night! We live close to a place where they have water ways etc around over priced houses with their expensive boats! Would we be missing much by only staying 2 nights in Ftl pre cruise? We are planning on not leaving to the ship till about 2pm Sat to avoid the queues! BTW, doing 2 nights South Beach post cruise!
capriccio Posted July 4, 2016 #2 Share Posted July 4, 2016 Sounds like a wonderful plan both pre- and post-cruise. To help you plan your time in Fort Lauderdale check out http://www.sunny.org and http://www.lasolasboulevard.com.
Rare Roz Posted July 4, 2016 #3 Share Posted July 4, 2016 Just curious, where in Ft. Lauderdale are you going to find street food? Roz
royalcruz Posted July 4, 2016 #4 Share Posted July 4, 2016 2 nights in Fort Lauderdale is all you need. Find a nice place on the beach.
eandj Posted July 4, 2016 #5 Share Posted July 4, 2016 Agree your plan sounds fine. It sounds like you don't need/want views of the marina or waterway. So that leaves you some nice beach choices. OR you could look at Lauderdale by the Sea for a smaller beach town feel. Not sure what you plan to do. Maybe look at the water taxi to Hollywood if it's available. We generally just chill out by walking,walking....the beach front and Las Olas Blvd.
Ashland Posted July 4, 2016 #6 Share Posted July 4, 2016 (edited) Just curious, where in Ft. Lauderdale are you going to find street food? Roz I think it's safe to assume the OP means local (nearby) to her hotel, casual dining;) Edited July 4, 2016 by Ashland
Rare Roz Posted July 4, 2016 #7 Share Posted July 4, 2016 To me "street food" means a food truck or vendor stand. Thanks for the clarification. Roz
