fred 15 Posted July 14, 2016 #1 Share Posted July 14, 2016 Arriving Manhattan Sun am 9/18. Have a 12:40 flight out of LGA. O says the timing is ok. Best way to get to LGA? I am told Manhattan cruise terminal can be a zoo. Any limo recommendations?

phillygirl63 Posted July 14, 2016 #5 Share Posted July 14, 2016 (edited) There will be plenty of taxis outside the terminal to take you to LGA. Edited July 14, 2016 by phillygirl63
fred 15 Posted July 14, 2016 Author #6 Share Posted July 14, 2016 There will be plenty of taxis outside the terminal to take you to LGA. I am told that you have to cross the street and wait in a long line. Three ships in that day. That is why I thought a limo might be best. Comments? hypercafe Posted July 14, 2016 #7 Share Posted July 14, 2016 Yes, the taxi stand is across 12 ave on the corner. I go there because I have no time constraints. You might have to wait in line. I would go with car service.
sammiedawg Posted July 15, 2016 #8 Share Posted July 15, 2016 (edited) Sunday mornings are relatively quiet here. I doubt you will have difficulty disembarking. I would cross the street and get an Uber. If you prefer taxi they will be lined up as previously described. . 20 to 30 minute ride and they will probably take you across the Queensboro bridge. Rare ronrick1943 Posted July 15, 2016 #10 Share Posted July 15, 2016 We've used Dial 7 many times, cruise and non-cruise. Very good and always on time.
Rare doowopbob Posted July 15, 2016 #11 Share Posted July 15, 2016 We used Uber to get from Manhatten port to LGA after our cruise this past May. First time we used them and couldn't have been happier.
nyfeds Posted July 15, 2016 #12 Share Posted July 15, 2016 Another fan of Dial 7. If you go onto their site, you might be able to score a discount coupon, too! :)
JimandStan Posted July 15, 2016 #13 Share Posted July 15, 2016 Which Limo or car service company you choose is going to be the least of your problems- Stan and I pick up friends from Oceania Cruise ships almost every time that one passes through Manhattan, and the process has literally never been the same twice. Depending on how the NYC Office of Emergency Preparedness views the security issues on the day when you arrive, passenger cars may either drive up to the very face of the terminal (up the ramp which you can see in this photo), or, be relegated to pickup points on the opposite (northbound) side of 12th Avenue. The issue then becomes the traffic on 12th Avenue, which quickly comes to a standstill as passengers and their luggage start crossing it in order to get to the "revised pickup locations"
