Cruise Music Mix Suggestions? Anyone?

Me and a chick friend are on Carnival Valor 12/11 doing a west Caribe run. LOVE Voyager... big ship AND fun. Congrats on your anniversary. I say find the cruise director and try to arrange a little surprise; poolside, casino, bingo, piano bar or disco. I'm sure they'd try to help and the wife will be amazed at your cheekiness:D

I'll be posting my list in a day or 2. I've been downloadin away off i-tunes. I've been looking at other peoples mixes. There were a few interesting ones under ISLAND and CRUISE. Check em' out.

Just discovered the singer Jack Mosley and his album Small Boats on Big Oceans. Great stuff, the whole album is perfect for cruising! I'm particularly fond of "Blue Sky Girl/Salt Water Man."

The Kenny Chesney album with "When the Sun Goes Down" also has some other island country stuff on it that's good..."Key Lime Pie," "Island Boy," "Guitars and Tiki Bars," "Sherry's Living in Paradise," and "Soul of a Sailor."

 

I never heard of "Sherry's Living in Paradise" before. I just downloaded it...and I think I have a new favorite song. Of course, it doesn't hurt that my name is Sherry. ;)

I have enjoyed this thread. I bought an iPod for my cruise (it happened to be a good excuse) and I've had fun coming up with my own mix. I'm going so far to make a 2-3 hour playlist for each day of my cruise:

Day 1 - (Leaving the Pier) Sail Away by Styx. Theme from the Love Boat

Day 2 - (Sea Day) Changes in Lattitude, Boat Drinks, Margaritaville

Day 3 - (Cozumel) Mexico by James Taylor, Blame it on Mexico by George Strait.

Day 4 - (Costa Maya) No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problem, Soak up The Sun

Day 5 - (Sea Day) Beyond The Sea, Walking on Sunshine

Day 6 - (Galveston home) Hello Texas by Jimmy Buffett

 

One song I think is great is Una Mas Cervesa....my playlist says the Texas Tornados sing it...but I don't think that's right (Tommy Alverson?).

Kenny Chesney, Jimmy Buffet, and James Taylor are heavy on the playlist....but I'm searching out little gems.
