cflutist Posted July 23, 2016 #26 Share Posted July 23, 2016 JMO, but I suspect the idea of doing away with the nightly chocolates is tied to the Norman Love thing. Maybe those overpriced candies are not selling as well as Princess was led to believe they would when they contracted with Mr Love, and they are hoping if Passengers get an occasional "free" taste of them they will buy more. LOL! Some Princess traditions need NOT to be messed with, especially our NIGHTLY chocolates!! I hope you're you listening, Princess!! Seems that Princess is not consistent with their chocolates on different ships. Sailed in PH suites on our last three cruises. No fancy chocolates on the Star. Fancy chocolates every night on the Grand in October 2015. Fancy chocolates only on formal nights on the Grand in April 2016. Also got the pillow chocolates from the room steward. p.s. they were very good. As far as cream puffs (our canape choice) were concerned, they seemed to alternate between dark and white chocolate every night.

LeeW Posted July 24, 2016 #28 Share Posted July 24, 2016 Norman Love was on our cruise in December 2015 and he had just gotten back from a chocolate kitchen in France where he was developing new pillow chocolates for Princess. Hope they are there on our next cruise. His desserts are fantastic. He also demoed making bonbons, and then they served 3000 of them in the atrium. Hard to eat more than one - very rich.
