bogofman Posted August 4, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted August 4, 2016 Are there rental offices near the terminal? We are at the port for a stop rather than embarking, so would only need the car for a few hours,
Kamloops50 Posted August 4, 2016 #4 Share Posted August 4, 2016 Are there rental offices near the terminal? We are at the port for a stop rather than embarking, so would only need the car for a few hours, There are a number of rental agencies near the port . They run shuttle to and from the port . The Space center is usually about a 4 - 6 hour visit . Count on an hour to pickup and drop a car at each end.

SteerageJoe Posted August 5, 2016 #6 Share Posted August 5, 2016 (edited) Directions KSC is only 18 miles from Port Canaveral – an easy 25 to 30 minute drive and no traffic to worry about! Admission Tickets are currently set at $50 per adult plus taxes = $53.25. Various upgrade packages are available. Ticket discounts? You can look for coupons in discount booklets found at local gas stations, tourist offices and restaurants but generally you will only save $5 to $7 per ticket and you have to read the small print carefully! A better discount option is membership in incentive-based programs offered by large companies. Ask your human resources department if your company participate in Tickets At Work for example. This program offers KSC tickets for $39.99 plus tax. Transportation If you rent a car be aware you will easily lose 30 minutes using the shuttle process to the local rental office to get your vehicle. If you plan to return your vehicle after hours (some companies close at 4) you have to add the costs and inconvenience of a taxi back to your cruise ship (add 20 more minutes at least). And parking cost $10 at KSC. Another option is to use a company like Happy Hour Shuttle - they have packages starting at $63 pp that includes tickets and return shuttle. A good deal but restrictions apply (# of people, etc.) Uber is another option. Also 888-transportation (not the taxi, the shuttle service), Space Port Transport and Cocoa Beach Shuttle. Expect to pay $80 - $100 for private transport (roundtrip) How much does the cruise ship excursion cost for KSC? svmodi Posted September 13, 2016 #7 Share Posted September 13, 2016 RCCL charges $84/adult and $79/child for their Kennedy Space Center Guided Tour. We will be on a cruise stopping in Port Canaveral in November. Has anyone used a shuttle service/private tour operator to get to Kennedy Space Center? SteerageJoe Posted September 13, 2016 #8 Share Posted September 13, 2016 Savings depend on the number of people in your party. UberX costs $31 one-way for up to 4 passengers. Except for the packages mentioned in my earlier post above you probably will not get cheaper transport options. For one or two people the cruise line package is not bad. Kamloops50 Posted September 13, 2016 #9 Share Posted September 13, 2016 KSC entry fee is about $50 per person. If you have your own transport you'll have to pay the entrance fee. We were there one time. A cruise line tour got priority on entrance to exhibits. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

There will be 4 of us - 2 adults and 2 kids. Maybe a private shuttle would work for us and be cheaper than thru the cruise line. Does anyone know how much a taxi ride would be to KSC and whether we would be able to get one back to the port Canaveral cruise port?
