1st time having comped cruise through twin rivers

I am platinum on NCL. We are taking an NCL cruise this fall with a free cruise certificate from Twin River Casino. I have no idea why I got this. I have only been to this casino twice and am far from a high roller. Just got another one in the mail yesterday. Great price for a cruise. Other than the cabin at a cheap price, is there anything else to expect when booking with CAS?

Your booking will include drink cards for the casino, which are good for well-brand cocktails, but also for bottled water and energy drinks, so that's a nice perk.

Your Player's Club and drink cards will be in your cabin when you arrive. There will be an envelope with a welcome letter that may or may not include an invite to a welcome party around the time of sailaway.

To book your cruise you need to call the number on your certificate, which should also indicate what type of cabin you have been comped. A bit of advice... check out the availability of that category online, and either do a courtesy hold online, or make a note of the cabin number you desire before calling. That helps put you in a location you want without a lot of back-and-forth while you're on the phone. If you do the courtesy hold, call and have them take over that booking. So easy.

We are platinum with NCL too, but now get all of our cruises directly from CAS or Harrahs/Caesars. Pay the low 'admin fee' and you still get all of the promos available for you category of comped cabin. So if you are comped an inside, see if there are current promos that go with that (like UBP or SDP etc). Lately the Oceanview and above have gotten two promos. The people at CAS that you call are really knowledgeable and can fill you in on everything. If you happen to get someone on the phone that isn't answering all of your questions, just call back and get someone else. Most of them have been fantastic to work with.

While you're playing in the casino make sure you have your players card in the machine. If you have sufficient play, call CAS the week after you get home and see if your play qualifies you for another cruise. We currently have two CAS comped cruises and one from Harrahs/Caesers booked.

WaldosPepper gave you great advice at checking out cabin placement before you call to book. If you are offered an Ocean View for example, you are eligible for the top category of OV. If you are offered Balcony, you can choose a BA category for same admin cost as you would for a BD.

Have fun:D

I also received an offer today from Twin River for a free cruise to be picked up on 8/27, but I probably won't pick up the certificate because I already get good offers from CAS. I started sailing with NCL a few years ago on a certificate that I received from Foxwoods and now I call CAS directly with the date and ship that I would like to sail and I usually get a balcony or mini suite but the certificate is usually for an inside cabin.

That is great to know. There is probably no way I would qualify with NCL CAS alone. We usually get no more than 2,000 points on the ship in the casino. I rarely go to land base casinos, but will if they keep sending me the certificates. We already booked an OA cabin with the UBP and SDP for the Dawn in October using a certificate.

But everyone's advice has been great. Thanks!

Thanks for some insight .

Did you upgrade from Inside cabin?

Booked an Outside OA Cabin on Escape in 2017 with the first Twin River received this year but had to upgrade from inside for an extra $180.Total about $870 for 2.They would only give me 1 free choice, stating CAS promo only allowed for one.

When I called back to inquire about the SDP , they said it was for 4 days only.Hope they were wrong.

I also had not played at this casino for over a year when I recieved the first cruise certificate. They also sent the invite for 8/27/16,which I may take the 1 hour drive to check out.

I recieved the free cruise from Plainridge/Penn National for a Carnival Valor cruise and the neat thing about that one is there is no fee, were it's ($500)for 2 people on NCL.

I have played heavy at Foxwoods in the past decade but never have received a cruise offer.

CAS has always told us that you get the promo for the type of cabin your certificate is for. So even if you upgrade from inside to OV, you still get the promo offered for the inside. On many of these past promo offers inside just got one while OV, Balcony and Mini-suite got two.

One caveat: That general rule is not true with regard to Penthouse suites. If you are offered a Penthouse, they will tell you which level they are offering; you cannot just choose any Penthouse suite...

I picked up my cruise certificate from twin rivers. Limited choices but will take one. Just have to decide.

hladygirl - If you happen to read this... could you tell me more about this "free" cruise offer at Twin River - what's the deadline to book and the deadline to cruise???

We were out of town for the date to pick up the vouchers - so sad to think we missed it - hubby & I BOTH received the offer :( But...this week we received a "second chance" postcard that it's not too late and we can pick up the vouchers this Saturday!!

Just wanted to know if we have to cruise in 2016 or if it extends in to spring 2017??

Thanks!
