6rugrats Posted August 15, 2016 #3 Share Posted August 15, 2016 Also, go to the Barcelona forum at tripadvisor.com. You can find hotel ratings and reviews there.
flamomo Posted August 16, 2016 #4 Share Posted August 16, 2016 (edited) Friends and I stayed at the Hotel Montecarlo, right on Las Ramba, for a pre-cruise night. The taxi ride to the port took less than 15 minutes, and we liked being right on Las Rambla, where there is lots to do and see. The hotel staff was great, the rooms comfortable, the bathrooms modern (mine had a spa tub). There is a rooftop patio, and we went across the street to the Carre Four grocery store and picked up freshly made empanadas and some wine, and took it up to the patio and enjoyed the views from up there while we had our impromptu meal. SuiteTraveler Posted August 16, 2016 #5 Share Posted August 16, 2016 Hotel 1889 - possibly the best hotel in Barcelona located on Las Ramblas. Less Expensive: Hotel Duquesa de Cardona - very nice as well - overlooking the waterfront and walking distance (2 blocks to Las Ramblas). Both hotels are a very short cab ride to the port. leen50 Posted August 16, 2016 #6 Share Posted August 16, 2016 We stayed at Hotel Canton. Small rooms, great breakfast, very near port. Near small grocery store that sold wine.

NCHPcruiser Posted August 17, 2016 #8 Share Posted August 17, 2016 Hotel Jazz is a popular pre-cruise hotel in Barcelona. Friends have stayed there and loved it.
Rare silentbob007 Posted August 17, 2016 #9 Share Posted August 17, 2016 I also have enjoyed Hotel Jazz. There aren't really hotels super-close to the terminal itself. You will either need to take a cab or take the port bus at the bottom of the Ramblas.
Kwaj girl Posted August 17, 2016 #10 Share Posted August 17, 2016 Tryp Apolo - they had a fantastic breakfast & we were able to walk to the port. Our ship was small enough to dock at the south port of the World Trade Center - most ships will be in the larger area where the walk could be a bit much as it's up and over the waterway from the Columbus statue. But do-able!
basil's mom Posted August 18, 2016 #11 Share Posted August 18, 2016 Hotel Continental is not very fancy but it is clean, extremely reasonable, and the staff are very friendly. http://www.hotelcontinental.com/en/hotel-continental-barcelona. Trivago has it listed for $109 a night. There is a buffet containing cold cuts, cheeses, hard boiled eggs, bread, and fruit that is open 24-hours a day. They also have complimentary soda, ice cream, coffee, and beer. It is located about 1/2 block from Las Ramblas. There are several restaurants, a grocery store, and H & M department store on the same street. Several people stayed at the hotel and we rented a van to the port for 90 euros for 7 people. It took about 15 minutes to travel to the ship so a cab wouldn't be expensive.
