jasm8449 Posted August 15, 2016 #1 Share Posted August 15, 2016 After 20 years with Celebrity, we want to try Select. 8:30pm dinner is too late for us now, but 6 is too early. We also found that tables for 2 which we always want and have had when we sail without friends/family, are so close together, they might as well be 4 tops. What is the likelihood of getting a somewhat separate table for 2 around 7-7:30pm? Do such tables even exist?

Never had a problem getting a table for two. There were a few times we had to wait about 15min but that's because the Hostess was trying to get us our favorite table for 2. You should be ok for 7-7:30 as that's when we also went for dinner.
jelayne Posted August 15, 2016 #3 Share Posted August 15, 2016 Getting a table for 2 in Select Dining hasn't been a problems for us. The tables are, for the most part, very close together. There are a few tables that are have no one next to them but they are in less than ideal locations - walkway, next to waiters area.
neverbeenhere Posted August 15, 2016 #4 Share Posted August 15, 2016 (edited) Equinox- as I recall has many tables for two. But very few "true" tables for two. I say go survey the dining room on embarkation day. Determine the table numbers(write them down) that will be satisfactory to you, then request those tables each night. You may wait once in a while, but you will be a lot happier. 104 days until Walt is transformed. Edited August 15, 2016 by neverbeenhere Walt needed a message. judgeender Posted August 15, 2016 #5 Share Posted August 15, 2016 As noted, many of the tables for 2 are very close to each other. You can often ask to be seated in a quieter area of the dining room and sometimes the table next to you won't be filled. As noted, if you walk around, there are many places where you can often find a table for 2 that is a little more isolated because it is next to a wall, a divider or a column. so that at least on one side there is more distance to the next table. Sandtrap328 Posted August 15, 2016 #6 Share Posted August 15, 2016 Table for two? WHY? My wife and I retired on the same day 12 years ago. When we now go on a cruise she says she wants a table with others so she can finally have an intelligent conversation. :)
Mr. Click Posted August 15, 2016 #7 Share Posted August 15, 2016 As others have said, most of the tables for two are pretty close together, kind of like long banquet tables so you have the choice of saying hello or not but you are not waiting for a table to fill before you are served. The tables in the hallway by the doors to the kitchen are not my idea of fun so sometime, usually just once on a cruise, you just have to say no thank you to that idea. We always booked our dinner for around 7pm and only waited once in three cruises for a table and that was because we said no ...
