CruisnDeb Posted August 23, 2016 #1 Share Posted August 23, 2016 We are visiting Curacao for the first time when our cruise ship stops there in November. We have a pretty long day there (8:00 am - 10:00 pm.) Are there Tour Companies setup at the pier trying to solicit cruisers to take a tour with them like in the Eastern/Western Caribbean ports? Or maybe the taxi drivers try to sell you a tour with them? We are trying to figure out how things work there so we can be prepared so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Sharobson Posted August 23, 2016 #2 Share Posted August 23, 2016 We cruised on the Carnival Conquest in March 2016. After much research, we booked a private tour with Andy Rolfast, who is a local with his own tour company. You can find reviews on Cruise Critic and on Trip Advisor also. The link to his website is http://privatecuracaotours.com/about/. He will tailor the tour to your liking. Myself, husband and two kids spent the whole day with him and traveled all over the island. It was our favorite part of the cruise and was very reasonable. He will pick you up right at the pier. :)

Sharobson Posted August 23, 2016 #4 Share Posted August 23, 2016 You're welcome! Search under his name "Andy Rolfast" on the boards and you'll see my review with pictures. We liked him and Curacao so much that we just went back for a long weekend and Andy met us for dinner one night!
CruisnDeb Posted August 23, 2016 Author #5 Share Posted August 23, 2016 You're welcome! Search under his name "Andy Rolfast" on the boards and you'll see my review with pictures. We liked him and Curacao so much that we just went back for a long weekend and Andy met us for dinner one night! His website doesn't list any prices. How reasonable was the cost? It will only be 2 of us (me and DH.)
Sharobson Posted August 23, 2016 #6 Share Posted August 23, 2016 I think it depends on what you want to do and how much time you want to spend. I think we paid like $250 and we spent all day, like 6 hours with him, from morning until dark. He drove us all over the whole island. The only thing we paid separately for was lunch. It was the most reasonable and best of all the tours we took.

school nurse Posted December 27, 2016 #8 Share Posted December 27, 2016 Hi Debbie, we are thinking of using Andy when we are in Curacao in February. How was your experience with his tour? besides lunch did you have to pay for to go to any of the sites he took you too, i.e. parks, beaches etc.? We ended booking with Irie Tours--there were a few couples already joined up from our roll call and we went with them. It was a good experience. It was on an open-air bus with all you can drink beer, soda, and water included. We did not have to pay for any additional entrance fees at any of the stops. We did the East Side Tour http://irietours.com/east-side-tour and thought for $25 it was a good deal.

chubbypiggy Posted December 29, 2016 #11 Share Posted December 29, 2016 Anyone knows if tours are available for Curacao that do NOT make a stop at any beach? Mainly just sightseeing/shopping. Thank you.
