I agree that the slowdown is due to lower deals. For example, in Jan 2017, I got a 5 day Miami-Cozumel-Miami solo on the NCL Pearl for $249. Summer of 2017, Mediterranean cruises on the Epic were soloing out under $500 for a week when you booked 3 weeks before sail. I watched to do the same thing the next year. Fast forward to 2018 and the Epic Med never went on sale. I paid $1000 for a studio, not $399 for an inside GTY. This year the only fire sales have been the Cuba itineraries that had to be changed.

I'm still waiting, but the deal isn't all that great. You very rarely see anything from Royal, MSC, or Carnival discounted low enough for a solo-occasionally HAL, but I don't think a lot of those are "deals", just lower than normal.

Potential deal alert:

Maiden voyage of the Norwegian Encore on 11/3 has dropped substantially. Studios are now going for $799. So with the Drink package about $1050. No port stops, just a week plus of ocean voyaging. Cold too. Plus the whole "maiden voyage from Southampton to New York on giant ship" thing. So not for everyone, but I figure there aren't many times you can go on a cruise and guarantee* no one else has slept in that bed.

Thanks for the tip, sparkmaster.

As implied, that Studio price currently includes one so-called Free at Sea offer. (I'm a technical writer and sensitive to marketing writing. Another shining example: What NCL calls Free Money is not actually free money...)

Also, Sail Away insides are currently USD 798, Sail Away oceanviews USD 1098, and Sail Away balconies USD 1298 - albeit with no Free at Sea offers.

Interesting, and tempting. Thanks, again.

If you are in the 'neighbourhood', NCL's Quebec to Boston 7 day cruises (or vis versa) are dropping. If you are willing to take the inside guaranteed, with tax ~$500 US. If you want the a free package and selected room, it jumps to $775US.

Nice, as long as getting to/from Singapore/Sydney is not an issue for you

last year around this time Cunard had a pricing error for a 12 day cruise and they honoured it until it got fixed on the website - about 20 hours.  It had to be completed by phone, but it was the best customer service and booking experience in my travel time.  There must have been about 17 solo travelers from North America sailing the Canary Islands over Christmas that paid less than 1/5th of what the Brits paid.  Word eventually got out but despite a bit of bah humbug, they forgave us for snapping up the deal.

So don't let this one get away.

Thank you for posting. I have booked this too.

I was able to take advantage of the Cunard Christmas cruise last year and knew the pricing didn't last for long.

This is a special promotional rate also with $200 OBC. I booked through an online TA.

I suspect it could be a pricing error, but I booked it too.  I couldn’t pass up that price for that itinerary.  It will be my first cruise on Cunard.  Nancy

Too good to pass up, so I booked it also!  After I did there seemed to be two cabins left along with un-numbered guarantees. Guess we will know for sure if the fare was real when confirmations are sent within the next 24-48 hrs...

I did receive my confirmation yesterday.  Can see my booking on the Cunard site.

Glad to see others joining me.

I was also able to get $200 OBC that Maryann mentioned. I booked with an TA, so wasn't sure if that was something offered by Cunard as well.
