Rare John&LaLa Posted April 27, 2017 #3476 Share Posted April 27, 2017 I know we are all assuming that Mariner will do the Global Odyssey around March 19 - but is it possible that she will do additional Singapore cruises during the summer and the three cruises will occur in the fall like other TAs - or has that already been ruled out. It just seems strange for a ship to arrive in Florida during the summer. If it is to do 3/4's, that is a summer cruise season Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Forums mobile app
Ashland Posted April 27, 2017 #3477 Share Posted April 27, 2017 A bit confused .... when will 2019 Singapore open...specifically what is the chance of a Singapore-Shanghai in March 2019 and on possibly what ship ?
CRUISEBOY305 Posted April 27, 2017 #3478 Share Posted April 27, 2017 Perhaps, but that is later in 2019 - a Vision class ship may leave the fleet before then. At some point all ships will leave the fleet, it's just a matter of time. It could be 2019 for Majesty. I think Royal is planning to use Majesty for Cuba. At least that's the impression I got from Michael Bayley's comment.
CRUISEBOY305 Posted April 27, 2017 #3479 Share Posted April 27, 2017 Just realized that the timing for Quantum's first dry dock is late 2019 - perfect time to de-Asianise her and return to the US. Since it's unlikely the dry dock will be in Asia, she'll probably be moved to Europe first. Quantums dry dock will most likely take place in Singapore or China. There is absolutely no reason to transport her to Europe or the US.

Redrobo Posted April 27, 2017 #3481 Share Posted April 27, 2017 (edited) this was posted on FB by friend today http://cruisepassenger.com.au/royal-caribbean-announces-new-quantum-ultra-ship-heading-asia-pacific-region/ Edited to say also Cruise Critic also posted on FB so may well have been posted here previously Edited April 27, 2017 by Redrobo
Biker19 Posted April 27, 2017 #3482 Share Posted April 27, 2017 Quantums dry dock will most likely take place in Singapore or China. Based on what? I don't know of a dry dock in Asia for an RCI ship in the past 2+ years. Not only that, it would be unsual to home port a ship in the same location for 4+ years. Heck, even Freedom finally left PE. And yes there are dry docks in Asia. Mariner was just at the one in Singapore a few weeks ago.
CRUISEBOY305 Posted April 27, 2017 #3485 Share Posted April 27, 2017 What about Majesty sailing from Miami for 20+ years ;p? exactly. Not to mention Oasis and Allure in PE for over 5. Freedom in PC. Explorer in Bayonne.

CRUISEBOY305 Posted April 27, 2017 #3487 Share Posted April 27, 2017 I thought Radiance had a dry dock in Singapore last year. No That was in Oregon. Voyager had it in Singapore as well. Last year or the year before.

Biker19 Posted April 27, 2017 #3489 Share Posted April 27, 2017 Not to mention Oasis and Allure in PE for over 5. Freedom in PC. Explorer in Bayonne. Oasis class cross the pond every 5 years for their dry dock and do summer in Europe. Oasis moved, Allure moves to Miami. Freedom had a long stint in PE but it moved and even has a TA. Was Explorer in NY for over 4 years? Again, I'm betting Quantum leaves Asia, when Passion shows up in 2019, regardless of where the dry dock happens. I'm betting Quantum stays for a long time, but Ovation is the one to leave Asia (going to Australia and Alaska instead) once Q4 arrives.

Doesn't seem like Ovation will go to Alaska since there is a transpacific already listed for Explorer in 2019 (of course that means absolutely nothing lol) Sent from my iPhone using Forums

MAS2017 Posted April 27, 2017 #3494 Share Posted April 27, 2017 Just got the new program from Royal. So voyager won't be back in Australia for 2018/2019 season, it's only Ovation, Explorer and Radiance :/ Sale date is 16 May, but all the cruises are listed on the program. springaussie Posted April 27, 2017 #3497 Share Posted April 27, 2017 With the Mariner TA Gibraltar has a Mariner booking 10 May which gives the impression she is going into dry dock first in Singapore. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The put a lot into the Quantum so that she would cater to the Asian market including converting into one of the venues into additional casino space and luxury shops that you don't fine on other ships. I personally don't thing she's going anywhere any time soon. Too much investment. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
MAS2017 Posted April 27, 2017 #3499 Share Posted April 27, 2017 Am I the only one annoyed by the 2018/2019 Australia release? I was really expecting a new ship or new itineraries. Instead we get reduced from 4 ships to 3 (5 to 3 if you consider no replacement for legend in Brisbane). And no real new itineraries. What's with all the New Zealand cruises, I like to go somewhere warm for my cruises and when I've cruised to NZ (in summer) it's bloody freezing, not to mention you can only do it so many times. Think it's time to start looking at what other cruise lines have on offer. Was expecting to be wow'd, but just disappointed. MAS2017 Posted April 27, 2017 #3500 Share Posted April 27, 2017 Oh, didn't realize that. Still hoping for Ovation, lol. Nope, Ovation has an itinerary to go from Sydney back to Singapore in March 2019 as usual. No TP for Ovation :( Sent from my iPhone using Forums
