Kissara22 Posted October 31, 2005 #1 Share Posted October 31, 2005 Hi,.we're a family of six with kids ages 7,9,16,18...OK the 18 year is no longer a kid. :) We're still deciding on which cruise to book for spring break to the Mexican Riviera. I'm writing about the kid programs on both ships. We are all very adventurous and we're leaning heavily on the Vision of the Seas, Rock wall etc. Is there anything special about Camp Carnival that I should take into consideration? Any other thoughts regarding the different kids programs? Thanks,....Any comments would be highly appreciated. I've also posted this on the Carnival, RCCL, and Family Cruising sections of CC. Kissara22 Posted October 31, 2005 Author #2 Share Posted October 31, 2005 Vison?? Vision ..even! :) Well I just booked the Vision of the Seas for our Spring Break. It will be our kids first time cruising. All in all it came down to the room locations and price. On the Pride we weren't able to get a guaranteed interior stateroom across from an exterior room, or a 4 person room. Evidently the Pride is highly sought because it was nearly sold out for the 3/26/06 sailing. So if you're thinking of booking, ...quit hesitating and do it now!! :D

What week are you looking at? We will be on the Vision 4/9/06-4/16/06. We have a 10yo DS who just loves the kids program w/ RCCL. Haven't cruised w/ Carnical so can't comment. dodge9 Posted November 2, 2005 #4 Share Posted November 2, 2005 I have sailed both Carnival and RCCL and have found Carnival to have more diverse activities for all ages, as well as larger cabins. We will be on the March 12th Pride cruise!
candigirl41 Posted November 3, 2005 #5 Share Posted November 3, 2005 I have sailed both ships. I preferred the Pride as the age group on the Vision was slightly older. I am 44. My daughter was 16 on the Vision and was able to go into the disco without too much trouble even though they say 18 and older. On Carnival the disco is off limits to under 18's after 11:00 PM. Your 16 year old will probably not want to do any camp stuff as it is pretty boring. Your little ones will love it. On Vision if you sign a waiver your 18 year old can drink beer and wine. If you have any other questions please let me know. Candi
