Hello,

I have been in New Orleans Port but only for a port of call and it was many years ago.

I have some questions if anybody can help truly appreciate it:

1- What is the distance from the airport to the port?

2- What is a nice high end hotel to stay three nights before that isn't far from the port?

3- Is it easy to get to the port or will we find a lot of traffic?

Distance from airport to port is about 15 miles, about a 30 minute cab ride.

The Hilton Riverside connects to the Riverwalk Marketplace, an outlet mall. If you aren't carrying a lot of luggage it is a fairly easy walk through the mall to the cruise terminals, maybe two blocks.

Most cruises leave on the weekend, when traffic is light to moderate, and usually not a problem.

It takes about seven hours to reach the Gulf Of Mexico, but the casino, shops, etc. open shortly after the ship leave the dock.
