Freedom55 Posted October 4, 2016 Author #52 Share Posted October 4, 2016 From my days of sailing on Windjammer Barefoot Cruises the sail away song would be Amazing Grace on the bagpipes. Very moving hearing that song while they hoisted the sails. Its hard to beat that one!

Rare shipshape sam Posted October 5, 2016 #56 Share Posted October 5, 2016 (edited) Island Aphrodisiac. It is an instrumental tune by the Rippingtons that has a neat steel band beat. Best listen to with a drink in hand on a top deck with a light breeze and friends. :) I also like It's Five O'clock Somewhere by Alan Jackson Edited October 5, 2016 by shipshape sam
LargeTexan Posted October 7, 2016 #57 Share Posted October 7, 2016 It has been years ago that we were on Crystal but loved their sail away song "Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong. Is that still what they do? Sent from my iPad using Forums

gwsster Posted October 7, 2016 #61 Share Posted October 7, 2016 The Disney Horns. I love when different ships salute each other with their horns. Most cruises now play some music for sail away. What is your ideal song that you would like to hear as you sail from the pier or the port?

beachbum53 Posted October 8, 2016 #66 Share Posted October 8, 2016 Get this party started- Pink Absolutely! I usually start singing this song (at least, to myself) after we've landed at the airport and are on our way to the port. :D:D

emeraldcity Posted October 8, 2016 #68 Share Posted October 8, 2016 My ultimate is, "Hot Hot Hot", but I love many....."Kokomo", "The Love Boat Theme", especially if I'm sailing Princess. "Come Sail Away", "Sea Cruise" just to name a few :-) I first heard "Hot, Hot, Hot" on one of my early cruises, and whenever I play it at home I can close my eyes and picture myself back on board, on the sun deck during sail away with the band playing on the pool deck, a fruity foo-foo drink in hand, surrounded by people in party-mode and enjoying the view of the shore slipping away. Flatbush Flyer Posted October 9, 2016 #75 Share Posted October 9, 2016 'Hot, Hot, Hot' Makes me want to dance. Only if it's the original by "Arrow" and not the "Buster Poindexter" wannabe. What would be really near would be to hear would be "I put a spell on you" by Screamin' Jay Hawkins.
