CruiserBruce Posted October 10, 2016 #2 Share Posted October 10, 2016 We assume you are referring to Oasis, Harmony or Allure? The decision is totally yours. As we don't know you, hard to make any recommendations.
SailBadtheSinner Posted October 10, 2016 #3 Share Posted October 10, 2016 When I'm on a cruise, I enjoy watching the ocean. SBtS
Krazy Kruizers Posted October 10, 2016 #4 Share Posted October 10, 2016 Welcome to Cruise Critic. If you can afford the balcony looking at the Ocean -- go for it.

preschool teacher Posted October 10, 2016 #6 Share Posted October 10, 2016 If you can swing the balcony, I'd go for that...but the window over Central Park could be fun too. We have an inside with a view of the promanade, for our cruise in December ...first time for that...
cb at sea Posted October 10, 2016 #7 Share Posted October 10, 2016 I would personally do an ocean view...just like if I was going to a beach resort....I want to see the sea! But...price might make a difference to you...
taglovestocruise Posted October 11, 2016 #8 Share Posted October 11, 2016 am going on a cruise for the first time. should i book a balcony room overlooking central park or balcony room with an ocean view? Central park balcony's give a very quiet view of the park area, lots of noise and activities going on with a boardwalk balcony, there are a handful of boardwalk cabins on deck 9-14 at the rear of the ship that still have a peak a boo view of the ocean as well as a good viewing spot for the water show. If you are going with a family there are several Central park balcony's with a double wide balcony that your TA should know about. On Oasis class ships there is no charge for breakfast at Johnny Rockets before 10:30. Also make ALL your show reservation well before sail date.. happy cruising
OCruisers Posted October 11, 2016 #9 Share Posted October 11, 2016 Welcome to Cruise Critic! :) You might also want to consider a Boardwalk balcony just for the fun of it. We could actually see the ocean from ours.
Bonnie J. Posted October 11, 2016 #10 Share Posted October 11, 2016 We did not like our inside cabin with a window overlooking the enclosed promenade at all. There are other cabins across from you can look into and they can look into your cabin too. There was no privacy, kept curtain closed most of the time so it was like a true inside cabin with no window. Get a cabin with an ocean view! No one can see you or inside your cabin! Bbearz Posted October 11, 2016 #11 Share Posted October 11, 2016 It really depends on two items: cost, and what you really like to see. Cost is obvious- If you want to see the ocean all the time- like we do... book the ocean view. If it's people watching, remember, you can people watch all the time while on deck. Do you prefer the "city" life, or nature??? Consider carefully-
Sea Hag Posted October 12, 2016 #12 Share Posted October 12, 2016 If I had the choice of looking at the ocean or looking at practically anything else, I'd choose the ocean.
