Specialty Dining & FTTF

I keep seeing as one of the perks of FTTF is "Priority Dining Reservations". I see in some places this refers to being waitlisted for Early/Late Dining, but I also keep seeing references to Specialty Dining. I searched the forum and can't find the definitive answer I am looking for.

We are planning on eating at a number of specialty restaurants on our upcoming Vista cruise (and to take advantage/maximize use of our kids eating "Free" off the kids menu due to our FH cabin) how will FTTF help me in this regard? We do not want to pre-book restaurants online as we will make the decision based on what is for dinner/dress attire that evening.

Or is there no benefit at all?

Thanks in advance!

If there is a waitlist, you go to the front of the line. Notice the language says "priority" (as are Platinum VIFP passengers), not "guaranteed" (as is the case for Diamond VIFP passengers).
