Posaune Posted October 23, 2016 #1 Share Posted October 23, 2016 Not doing a true live from, but will try and report in occasionally. The Captain just announced that due to sea conditions (20 foot seas and force 9 winds) that we are going to reverse the order of ports in hopes of being able to make it in to both planned ports. Halifax tomorrow and St. John on Tuesday. He said that there would be no chance of making the port entry into St John tomorrow due to winds. Excursion desk is currently rearranging tours. Glad we did not have independent tours planned this time! It took two tugs to get us off the dock in Brooklyn last night.
easyboy Posted October 23, 2016 #2 Share Posted October 23, 2016 Nice to know your St. John port visit is saved with the rearrangement. One of our favorite ports.
Posaune Posted October 24, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted October 24, 2016 Hoping it will be saved. Still supposed to be quite windy, but the odds will be better a day later. Going to be cold and rainy according to the forecast! 34 and rain does not sound good!
riclop Posted October 24, 2016 #4 Share Posted October 24, 2016 Not a good cruise to take at this time of the year.
Posaune Posted October 24, 2016 Author #5 Share Posted October 24, 2016 We made it into Halifax after a very windy night. Much of Halifax had lost power during the evening because of the winds but it was restored by morning. It ended out to be a beautiful but windy and cold day to tour Halifax. All the tour times changed, so the tour office had quite the nightmare getting everything sorted out and rescheduled yesterday. I think they did a pretty good job under a tight time limit. Cruiser411 Posted October 24, 2016 #6 Share Posted October 24, 2016 Not a good cruise to take at this time of the year. Well, Canada/New England cruises are always in September/October for the fall foliage. :)

Posaune Posted October 27, 2016 Author #15 Share Posted October 27, 2016 For those interested there were 258 Elite and 657 Platinum onboard. The three most traveled clocked in at 504, 791 & 1809 days.
JoRoy218 Posted October 27, 2016 #16 Share Posted October 27, 2016 We were on the 15-22 Oct sailing of Regal. We had to skip Saint John due to high winds also. Wasn't disappointed, loved the extra sea day. We had Xcite on board that week, enjoyed them.
Posaune Posted October 27, 2016 Author #17 Share Posted October 27, 2016 45 minutes from walking off ship to Delta gate at LGA. That has to be near a record!
iTownPrincess Posted October 28, 2016 #18 Share Posted October 28, 2016 Tell us about your dining experienceset. Sailing in just under three weeks. Looking forward to some awesome diners. Our group of four (a girls' cruise!) had the early seating in the Allegro DR. We only ate there two nights -- the formal night and the last night. Very nice menus, great food & wine selection by the glass. Wonderful service, waiter Rolly and assistant Ivan. The only drawback for us was that we always wanted to make the 8:00pm show, and even if we arrived in the Princess Theater at 7:30pm, the best seats were already taken! We also ate at Sabatini's, Alfredo's, and one dinner in the Horizon Court. All food was excellent. Not sure if you were asking about specific dishes served; if so, let me know & I will gladly tell you.
