Rare birdlord Posted October 24, 2016 #1 Share Posted October 24, 2016 Does it matter if the luggage tags are printed in black & white? Or must they be in color?

wolfcathorse Posted October 24, 2016 #3 Share Posted October 24, 2016 (edited) doesn't matter, they only need the quadrant and room number. In the old days when RCI would have more than one ship in port on boarding day, they had different colors to make sure the luggage got on the correct ship. Rare birdlord Posted October 24, 2016 Author #4 Share Posted October 24, 2016 Good news. I really didn't feel like going out and buying a new color cartridge when we never need it for anything!

reedl Posted October 24, 2016 #8 Share Posted October 24, 2016 (edited) Does it matter if the luggage tags are printed in black & white? Or must they be in color? :D Yes, they must be in high Quality Color printed at least 800 DPI on photo quality paper in the exact size required, otherwise your luggage will be dumped over the side of the ship. :D Now for those who do not understand emojis, that was pure sarcasm. Black and White is perfectly acceptable. Edited October 24, 2016 by reedl

cb at sea Posted October 24, 2016 #11 Share Posted October 24, 2016 Color is not needed...you don't even NEED to print and fold....the porters have REAL tags...so you need do nothing "crafty" in advance!
debshomespun Posted October 25, 2016 #12 Share Posted October 25, 2016 If you print and fold at home, I then used packing tape to strengthen them. I then put a small hole in each end, and use a twist tie to tie it together. Easier than trying to find tape or a stapler at the port.
jamesr3939 Posted October 25, 2016 #13 Share Posted October 25, 2016 (edited) I just printed mine yesterday and for the first time I noticed it said "preferably in color". That being said I have done B&W before and they always seem to make it. I bought the plastic luggage tags from here on CC (click "store" above) several cruises ago and just cut the tags and slip them in the holders; much sturdier than all the other suggestions. I bought the large size so they work with any cruise lines. Edited October 25, 2016 by jamesr3939
scoobygirl Posted October 25, 2016 #14 Share Posted October 25, 2016 This will be my first time on Royal. I registered today because we are now 90 days out. I didn't see an option to print luggage tags. Is it too soon?

I didn't see an option to print luggage tags. Is it too soon? When your cruise documentation (not set sail pass) is available, then the luggage tags will be available for printing. Sometimes it's 30 days before the cruise. In my case, it was like 47 days before the cruise. Just keep checking your reservation online when you get a little closer. Rare island lady Posted October 25, 2016 #16 Share Posted October 25, 2016 I have had to use the little sample tags (page 3 on set sail pass print out) a couple of times when I changed cabins at the last minute. RCI never updated my e-docs, just the set sail pass. Those are smaller, and in black and white. They still worked...got the luggage just fine.
