retired rascal Posted November 2, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 2, 2016 Our recent cruises were short enough that we could carry all the cash we needed. Now we'll be gone for several weeks. Years ago we'd bring Travelers Cheques and the Pursar would cash them. HOW DO YOU GET CASH NOW??? We'll be on the Gem. Are there ATMs? or??? Moby0215 Posted November 2, 2016 #2 Share Posted November 2, 2016 Yes there is an ATM in the Casino as well as possibly one other somewhere else.
nolatravelgirl Posted November 2, 2016 #3 Share Posted November 2, 2016 How much cash do you really think you will need? your on board purchases will all be charged to your account so you really will only need cash for purchases on shore.
vince_g Posted November 2, 2016 #4 Share Posted November 2, 2016 Since you can use travelers checks to establish your onboard account, you can probably cash them too.
sharona211 Posted November 2, 2016 #5 Share Posted November 2, 2016 Can you get cash (or chips at the casino for example) and charge it to your cabin account?
vince_g Posted November 2, 2016 #6 Share Posted November 2, 2016 Can you get cash (or chips at the casino for example) and charge it to your cabin account? Yes, but with a 3% fee. Someone recently posted that on RCL they do not charge a fee, if you have a cash onboard account. I can see them charging the 3% if you are using a credit card for your onboard account, but apparently that doesn't matter. NCL always charges 3%. If I was you, I would just bring an extra wad of cash for the casino.
