JAMESCC Posted November 14, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 14, 2016 (edited) I just saw this article from someone who worked on an RCI ship for 7 months. By the picture is looks like Explorer or at least that class. Let me know what you think. http://www.businessinsider.com/what-working-on-a-cruise-ship-is-like-2016-11/#julian-austin-seeks-out-jobs-that-involve-travel-but-found-it-tough-to-balance-alongside-a-legitimate-career-1 Edited November 14, 2016 by JAMESCC
Langley Cruisers Posted November 14, 2016 #2 Share Posted November 14, 2016 Is there any way you could post the text? Is it a long article? I am using an ad blocker and it will not permit me access unless I turn it off, which I am not about to do. Just curious. :)
blackshirt Posted November 14, 2016 #3 Share Posted November 14, 2016 Not much text, mostly pictures with captions. Won't your ad blocker software allow an exception without turning it off?

CapeCoralCruiser Posted November 14, 2016 #6 Share Posted November 14, 2016 OK article, not much substance. Not saying it was bad, but it is just a "surface" description of a crew member's life.

Basically just captions for pictures. Very little real information.

By the way I have an ad blocker and it blocked the ads. I was still able to read the article... Edited November 15, 2016 by Charles4515
chengkp75 Posted November 15, 2016 #9 Share Posted November 15, 2016 And he's basically cruise staff, so given a lot more access to guest areas, as the photos of him dining in guest venues shows. This is not really reflective of the majority of crew experience.
Langley Cruisers Posted November 15, 2016 #10 Share Posted November 15, 2016 It's fine. I don't need to read it that bad. :p
