!st Cruise, 30th Anniversary-shore excursions

Hi all - We are going on our 1st cruise on the Carnival Valor out of Port Canaveral. Somewhat disappointed when we learned they were shortening our cruise to 3 days from 4, but they are giving us a 25% discount, and $50 in on board credit, so we are going to go ahead and take the deal. I considered using the money to upgrade from our oceanview to a balcony, but not sure it's worth it for such a short time. I am looking for ideas on shore excursions - Segway or ATV probably, but they are both getting mixed reviews

For me it's a balcony every time.

For 1st time cruisers and especially on such a short itinerary I would say skip the balcony. The ship itself will be so new to you that you will spend almost no time in your room. For most people it seems the more you cruise the more down time you spend in your cabin and this enjoying your balcony. Just my thoughts.....

The 25% is more like a refund, from 4 to 3. But the OBC compensates the cut duration. Just enjoy your cruise!
