gunn3rs3 Posted November 23, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 23, 2016 Checking Sapphire deck plans can only find 3 disabled toilets, and one of those is tucked away in the beauty/massage area, considering they're will be a fair amount of disabled passengers this is frightfully few, have any been added that's not on the deck plans? How do you know how many disabled passengers there will be? There will also be an accessible toilet in every accessible cabin.

I think any public toilets indicated on plans as a disabled toilet is a single disabled access unit but may be used by all. Ladies and Gents toilets marked thus will be general toilets and within will have a number of cubicles including a much larger one designed for disabled use. Typically they prop the public access door to the room on general toilets for hygiene purposes so nobody touches the handle on exiting. This is designed for non hand washers who unfortunately exist but helps access to the facility. Standard Princess policy. Regards John
fishywood Posted November 23, 2016 #5 Share Posted November 23, 2016 (edited) The only times the handicap-accessible toilet is indicated separately on the deck plans is if said toilet is not immediately connected or adjacent to the general public toilets. For example on the port side of Decks 6 and 7 near the Princess Theatre the vestibule for the toilets there has two doors per gender: one for the room with standard stalls, the other for the separate accessible toilet & sink. But shown on the deck plans as the basic man/woman icon as the accessible toilet is not considered in a "different" place. In the current fleet I know of no case on the Grand-class or larger ships where if you head for the nearest public toilet of your gender as indicated on the map there will not be an accessible stall either inside or adjacent. You won't see on the deck plans the disabled toilets provided as an enlarged cubicle on the restroom for either men or ladies.
