I was on the Magic in August of this year. I loved the ship - it ranked right up there with the Breeze for me (the Breeze was my favorite). The food options were nice - the only ship so far with the Guys BarBQ on sea days which was much better than the Seaside BarBQ on other ships. In one way it was better than the Breeze - Alchemy Bar, although I think the Breeze may be getting the Alchemy. I just basically enjoyed the entire ship. And you can't beat the Pt. Canaveral port for ease in embarking/disembarking.

Magic is my most favorite cruise yet. Great ship with an excellent CD and crew. Many included food options and plenty to do. Whats not to like? :)

Would be glad to answer and specific questions you have.

The Vista has the pig and anchor BBQ as well. Magic was my fav ship until I cruised the Vista.

Now that Magic is out of Port Canaveral, I won't sail on her. I did sail Magic from Galveston, which only confirmed my dislike of long distances between the airport and seaport.

I like to get off the plane, grab a taxi, and be at my ship in 15-20 minutes or so, like in FLL and MIA. I'm also developing a fondness for my homeport options in NYC.

We like to drive to our cruises and Pt Canaveral is the closest one that has year round cruises.

Also like to leave our of Florida for our cold weather cruises so we have warm weather the entire time

Ditto! I love cruising out of PC! I drive to all my cruises though. Really looking forward to a year round Spirit class ship in Tampa. :)

We were on the Magic Nov 25 - Dec 4, this was our second cruise on her. Alost the same design as the Dream. Nice Spa, did not feel crowded, shows OK, food OK to Good.

Enjoy:D:)

Conquest class used to be our favorite but than they started putting cover band on promenade just outside the casino.

Hard to hear band with noise from casino and with people walking back and forth and cigarette smoke coming in.

Dream class has ocean plaza and that works very well for listening to band and a nice quiet place for trivia games.

Was just on the Magic a few weeks ago. It is now my favorite Carnival ship.

Loved the colors of the lobby/atrium which are "color changing"..very pretty (despite the round globes that look like blood shot eye balls..lol).

We were always in and out of the dining room in about an hour or so (late seating) and our dining staff was terrific. I really liked the American Table/American feast selections..some of my favorite and some new dishes to try. I liked most of it. Some things I didn't care for.

Shows: Dr. E, the CD said the ship is in transition, so it doesn't have all the playlist shows like the other ships, but they are working on it. He really puts on a great party and he's a terrific CD...very funny and entertaining.

The duo in the ocean plaza was terrific.

I was disappointed in the Italian restaurant. Much better on Sunshine and Breeze. Don't know why it was different on this ship (maybe different food vendor was used?).

We saw the captain and officers out and about more often on this ship than any other which was nice to see.

Our steward did a great job and very friendly.

Ship was full but never felt crowded. Never an issue with elevators (our method is that we always get on next available one...regardless of which direction it is going...it can only go so far and we don't mind going for a little ride and talking to other people :))

Excursions: for the first time that I've experienced on Carnival, excursions had a meeting point in a specific area on the ship...ours was in Main dining room for both our Aruba and Curacao excursions. First day, very chaotic for those disabled in wheelchairs/mobility issues, etc. Second day, it was better because people complained (as myself did as well) that some of the way it was run didn't really accommodate the disabled...the line just moved to fast for them, and they lost sight of the "line leader".

I tried pig and anchor and thought it was OK but DH didn't like it. Guys and Blue Iguana was great in my opinion.

I would definitely book on Magic again.
