Rare nbsjcruiser Posted December 11, 2016 Author #51 Share Posted December 11, 2016 This is the restaurant area I tried to take a couple nighttime sailaway shots. Its difficult in St Thomas since all there is is lights everywhere but here's a couple. Tomorrow - a few more ship pictures from two sea days and some Antigua pics. Thanks again for the nice comments and check back tomorrow.
Rare nbsjcruiser Posted December 11, 2016 Author #52 Share Posted December 11, 2016 (edited) Thank you for your review. We're at the Courtyard Marriott, this very moment, enjoying our evening relaxing, after traveling all day. We're getting on the Regal tomorrow. Like you, we're use to arriving at the port early. But, will leave hotel at 10:30. Thanks for the heads up.:D Your Amber Cove pictures are really nice. We want to go on a tour of Puerta Plata, also do some shopping. Hubby want cigars and i love dealing with the locals. However, i also want to lounge and relax in the pool. The zipline, slide, the whole area looks awesome! Thanks again for posting. I hope you have a great cruise. Make sure you try the Crown Grill. It really was the meal of the week. I hope your Husband gets some good cigars. There weren't any in the shopping area around the cruise area of Amber Cove so you'll probably get some in Puerta Plata. I did get a couple on the ship - you have to get a bartender in the casino to get them for you. Anyway, enjoy your cruise. Its a great ship - you'll have a ball. ILShipmates Posted December 11, 2016 #63 Share Posted December 11, 2016 Your pictures are amazing!!! Thanks for posting the Amber Cove ones, being a new port of call for Princess, I know many cruisers will be very interested in seeing it. Your pictures make me wish I were there now. Loved the rainbow pictures. You are one good photographer. I'll be following along the whole way. Cheers - Ken & Darlene Hey, Ken & Darlene You take some pretty awesome pictures also. Loved yours from last January. It looks like we will just keep missing each other. You are going to be on the Regal the month after us coming up, and on the Caribbean the cruise before us in Jan. 2018. We were on the retreaters cruise this year, but chose the full Panama trip for October 2017 instead. Maybe someday we will connect up again. Sent from my iPad using Forums Not sure about beforehand but I do know that they go quick so I'd make that job #1 the minute I got on ship if its something you want. I couldn't even get a lounger for half a sea day when I tried on the second day of the cruise.
Rare nbsjcruiser Posted December 12, 2016 Author #69 Share Posted December 12, 2016 (edited) Sorry I didn't get back to this yesterday. It was a busy Sunday. So - here we are in Antigua. It was a cloudy day and so I missed some of the nice blue sky in my pictures :( I think this might be the only picture I took of the area outside the gates. As you can see it isn't really a nice photogenic area and the curbs and sidewalk areas would be tough to handle for anyone with mobility issues Edited December 12, 2016 by nbsjcruiser

Rare nbsjcruiser Posted December 12, 2016 Author #71 Share Posted December 12, 2016 We went out to Dickenson Beach for the afternoon. We'd been there before and it was beautiful but things have changed a bit out there. The minute I stepped out of the cab I was being hassled. They just assumed I wanted a chair and umbrella at $40 and they were trying to lead us around by the nose. This turned me right off and I ignored them and walked further up the beach to Tony's where there were plenty of chairs and no hassle. So if anyone goes to Dickenson - just tell the cab driver to take you to Tony's. There is a nice little bar there This is the dining area for Sandals - a short walk down the beach Sandals
Rare nbsjcruiser Posted December 12, 2016 Author #72 Share Posted December 12, 2016 After a cloudy day on the beach - we headed back to the ship. In hindsight, we should have done something else in the afternoon. The weather wasn't great for a beach day and I should have walked up the hill from the port to the St John Cathedral and got some pictures up there. Would have saved me a few bucks on a not so great weather day. Two days at sea coming up and a few more ship pictures.
Luke Dawg Posted December 12, 2016 #73 Share Posted December 12, 2016 My party of 5 was on the same cruise 11/27, all long time cruisers but first time with Princess, have to say we all had a great time, very relaxing, buffet was best buffet in all our cruises, staff was great - definitely will book this ship and Princess again, love it. Only negative was Princess at Sea app - we used the app the entire cruise - lost connection a couple of times and it does not beep you when you get a message - so you are always having to check your messages. - I hope they fix this because it was useful

You do a great job managing a roll call for a sail away and meet & greet. Enjoy your up coming cruises! :) Loving these pictures by (nbsjcruiser). We enjoyed this cruise very much. Never tried the app though. I did find that neither St. Thomas not Antigua was good beach weather though. It actually rained at some point at every port. [emoji20] Not princess's fault. So we will sail on the Regal again. The ship itself was outstanding.
