Bobby Dee Posted December 12, 2016 #1 Share Posted December 12, 2016 Just off Silhouette, sail date 12/4/16. The UDP as it was, no longer is available. Effective on the return from Europe two cruises ago, the packages have changed. Previously, the UDP included Dinners and Lunches. You could choose which restaurants you wanted to eat at, and when. The price was $29 per person, per day. Other dining packages forced you to eat at specific restaurants. Now they are all called "Flexible Dining Packages." You can purchase them for a few days, or for several days, or for all days. You choose where you want to eat and how often, so long as there is availability. But you can eat in the same restaurant everyday if you wish to. The number of days determine the per day price with the full seven days of our cruise costing about $30 per person, per day. Shorter packages were more expensive per day. I don't know what the per day price will be for longer cruises. The new program does NOT include lunches, only dinners. That being said, we were very pleased with the seven day package and never had a problem. We didn't eat at either Sushi on Five or the Porch, but it appeared that those two restaurants were treated as specialty restaurants for dinners the same as the more traditional restaurants. Muushka Posted December 12, 2016 #2 Share Posted December 12, 2016 Thank you! I think the new plan will be an improvement for us. The UDP seemed like overkill and we didn't like the restrictions of the 3,4,5 day plans (where you had to eat). This will be just right.
CallyCruzer Posted December 12, 2016 #3 Share Posted December 12, 2016 Sorry to see the ultimate dining package change. We had it earlier this year on a 14 day cruse. We paid $29 PP and could eat wherever we wanted each night and also for lunch each day in the restaurants that were open (Bistro on Five - (didn't change until the week we got off the ship to Sushi) and the special lunches in Tuscan and Murano). It was a great deal then!
SusieV Posted December 14, 2016 #4 Share Posted December 14, 2016 Oh no, that's so sad. My partner was looking forward to lunches at Sushi on Five.
Sandtrap328 Posted December 14, 2016 #5 Share Posted December 14, 2016 Currently on the Reflection enjoying the Ultimate Dining package. Next cruise isn't until March on Eclipse. Will purchase plan if it is still being offered. It was a great plan, but perhaps too popular as all specialty restaraunts have been full each evening. Would seem to have no available space for full $$$ paying customers.

I'm very sorry to hear this, as we enjoyed lunches at the Porch and all-specialty dinners on our last Reflection cruise at a very attractive price due to the UDP. I hope they will reconsider, even if the price of the UDP has to be adjusted upward somewhat.
