tree.critter Posted December 30, 2016 #1 Share Posted December 30, 2016 I have never used the kiosks onboard and am wondering if I can use them to withdraw cash before going ashore to pay for private excursions. I have a substantial OBC and several gift cards which I plan to add to my account during boarding.
HawkIVette Posted December 30, 2016 #2 Share Posted December 30, 2016 I have used it to load gift cards to my S&S account, but have never withdrew money from it. But that is one of the options you have from the on screen menu.

SeaScout Posted December 30, 2016 #6 Share Posted December 30, 2016 no head to the casino to the cashier cage to get your change instead of standing in the long line at the guest services Ummm, actually the kiosks do break large bills. We use them frequently for just that purpose.
Micahs Grandad Posted December 30, 2016 #7 Share Posted December 30, 2016 Do they deduct a commission in doing this? I think if you take cash from your obc at casino they deduct 3% for doing this.
riffatsea Posted December 30, 2016 #8 Share Posted December 30, 2016 If you take money out at the casino from your own OBC there is no extra charge or commission! DH did it several times on our last cruise. You set up an account at the casino and play a few slots and then cash out with whatever you want from your account. On Fascination it was 5.5% ($5.50 minimum) to withdraw cash from the casino and the notice did not say anything about being able to withdraw you OBC without the fee. (Not disputing anything in the above post, just sharing what I saw.)
HawkIVette Posted December 30, 2016 #10 Share Posted December 30, 2016 Am I missing something here. The OP asked about getting her gift card money back in cash from the Kiosk. Not breaking bills. Not putting charging money on her S&S (which would be a fee). Not going to the casino for cash. Not going to Guest Services for cash. I know, some are just trying to help with other suggestions but she simply asked if she could withdrawal money from her S &S at the kiosk.

tree.critter Posted December 30, 2016 Author #13 Share Posted December 30, 2016 We do all the time. Sent from my iPhone using Forums Thank you deborahjo and all that have shared different experience with the kiosk. I've seen them but never used them and have learned even more than I expected. Breaking down large bills, very convenient and good to know also. Knowing cash will be accessible to me also is perfect and helps me with my last minute plans for next week's cruise.
