dporter Posted January 1, 2017 #3 Share Posted January 1, 2017 Is there a difference between that and ultimate beverage package?I see this now instead of Ultimate beverage package. There is no difference. You are limited to 1 drink at a time up to and including $15. Any amount over this you pay, we had no problem staying at or below the $15. However, if you are a wine drinker the by the glass options available on this are limited. Not much of a choice, but it didn't bother us as we just tried lots of other cocktails. ALS1214 Posted January 1, 2017 Author #4 Share Posted January 1, 2017 I thought for certain trips there was no price limit or something. I saw it while I was on NCLs website as part of the free at sea promotion Sent from my iPad using Forums No, no conditions have no price limit. UBP is always what's offered as the 'free at sea' perk with its normal T&Cs, sky has the 'open bar' as part of the ship. It's slightly different than the UBP, since it's ship wide, believe all passengers get it, not just the first 2. And don't think you have to present you card to get covered drinks. But if you look at the sky menus there are still plenty of drinks offered as an upcharge. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

These are the T&C for UBP. The OP asked about 'unlimited open bar'. It is only on Sky and has different rules. Rare BirdTravels Posted January 2, 2017 #9 Share Posted January 2, 2017 These are the T&C for UBP. The OP asked about 'unlimited open bar'. It is only on Sky and has different rules. SKY "guests will receive complimentary beverages which include designated spirits, cocktails, bottled beer, draft beer, and wines by the glass and unlimited fountain soda and juices at all bars, lounges, restaurants and Great Stirrup Cay. Does not include room service, package sales, ship specific promotions or beer buckets, designated Super Premium brands (subject to change), bottled wine, mini bar purchases, bottled water, fresh squeezed juices, select Lavazza coffee beverages, energy drinks, vending machines, souvenir items or wine stations. mooph Posted January 2, 2017 #10 Share Posted January 2, 2017 Does 'SKY' refer to a ship or a passenger designation? From my initial browsing, it looks like the 'open bar' proviso is included with mini & regular suites.
hogie23 Posted January 2, 2017 #11 Share Posted January 2, 2017 "Sky" is a ship. The "open bar" pertains to the this particular ship. See post #9 above for details of what is and what is not included. I don't believe cabin category makes a difference. From my initial browsing, it looks like the 'open bar' proviso is included with mini & regular suites. Actually on NCL.com the Free at Sea now is FREE Unlimited Open Bar as a perk SKY has it's own deal that is labeled only as "open bar" and has it's own terms. NCL also lists "open bar" as a free at sea option, but as soon as you click that option it lists that you will get the UBP. So NCL currently has two separate free drink programs: If you sail on the SKY you get the open bar If you sail anything else under the "free at sea" you get UBP Edited January 2, 2017 by sanger727

Tiki Roost Posted May 21, 2017 #18 Share Posted May 21, 2017 Unlimited Open Bar??Where did you see it? I got a flyer in the mail from Norwegian, on the back it says under "Norwegian's Free at Sea" - "Unlimited Open Bar". Trying to find out why it is called this -- we had the Ultimate Beverage Package which excludes "super premium" alcohols and drinks over, if I recall, $12 -- if you buy over, you are charged the difference. But now they call it Unlimited???
Rare natefish95 Posted May 21, 2017 #19 Share Posted May 21, 2017 On non-Sky ships the Free at Sea promotion says Unlimited Open Bar, BUT that is just another way of saying Unlimited Beverage Package. When you actually go to book a cruise, it will list the UBP as one of the options. This is different than the Free Open Bar offered on the Sky. They likely changed the wording because people didn't understand what the Ultimate Beverage Package meant, so saying free open bar simplifies things. BamacruisersDJJ explained this above when they listed the promo out.
swatkins56 Posted May 26, 2017 #20 Share Posted May 26, 2017 What is the retail value of the Free at See unlimited beverages? Would be helpful to know if the cost of gratuities would be more than we would normally pay on beverages.
hawkeyetlse Posted May 26, 2017 #21 Share Posted May 26, 2017 Retail value is $79 per day, so the 18% on that is $14.22 per person per day. That's 4 sodas, or 2 beers, or one glass of wine, or not even one fancy cocktail.

Would be helpful to know if the cost of gratuities would be more than we would normally pay on beverages. If you only have one or two drinks a day then gratuities would be more than regular prices. For me, $90 in gratuities is like 2 days of drinks. Small price to pay for unlimited drinks.

CP3o Posted January 24, 2018 #25 Share Posted January 24, 2018 For a minute recently I thought the package had been expanded to include a waterbottle per day and specialty coffee at dinner. Can't find it now but think it was a different program. What's that one called, is it a suite guest thing?
