mrpayroll Posted January 9, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 9, 2017 (edited) If you wait until the day of, you will be out of luck. If interested, do it now. Edited January 9, 2017 by mrpayroll
BahamaMama1214 Posted January 9, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted January 9, 2017 Thanks, we chose a guaranteed interior and we ended up with bunk beds. Not exactly the ideal situation for my DH and I, so I was hoping we could make some changes. Has anyone upgraded and know relatively how much it will cost us to upgrade? BahamaMama1214 Posted January 9, 2017 Author #4 Share Posted January 9, 2017 Or is it possible to change your stateroom and stay in the same category?
Shaded Lady Posted January 9, 2017 #5 Share Posted January 9, 2017 I'd call Carnival right away and speak to them. They can explain your options... it often depends on what kind of booking you made (Early Saver, Guaranteed, etc) that will define if you can move... but I've never heard of Carnival turning down more money to upgrade you, as long as they have availability. Before you do anything though, check with Carnival to make sure that your room doesn't just have 2 twin beds, not 2 bunk beds... if they're twins, often they can be put together to make a king bed. We thought of that too, but we even looked up pictures and it has the upper lower bedding. Looks like we'll be making a call.
springs741 Posted January 9, 2017 #7 Share Posted January 9, 2017 Best of luck to you. This is unfortunately what occurs when you book a guarantee stateroom. I agree with others call Carnival ASAP. They will be happy to take your money.
Boozebabe Posted January 9, 2017 #8 Share Posted January 9, 2017 It depends on the cruise and if its sold out already. Also depends on how you booked. You may have penalties for changing.

serene56 Posted January 9, 2017 #11 Share Posted January 9, 2017 It depends on the cruise and if its sold out already. Also depends on how you booked. You may have penalties for changing. not if they upgrade. and there is no downgrading this cabin at all. OP will pay the difference to go from the Inside guarantee to picking a cabin or oceanview guarantee. Do it ASAP as assignments are now being given out. (People argue with me that getting the bunk bed type of cabin is NOT a option when booking a inside guarantee- this is living proof that it can happen and will
auntieshoes Posted January 9, 2017 #12 Share Posted January 9, 2017 I would go to cruise dot com and see what cabins they show as available before calling Carnival, so that you can be informed when you talk to CCL.
