code_d Posted January 16, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 16, 2017 Just off the Magic and I noticed the big screen TV that is by the cafe and in the same location on most ships that showed weather, location, topography, speed, wind direction was no longer showing these things. It was only pictures of nature. This the case now in general? I kind of liked stopping by and seeing these things.
mapsmith Posted January 16, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 16, 2017 The map is usually also available on the TV in the rooms.
sanmarcosman Posted January 16, 2017 #3 Share Posted January 16, 2017 (edited) It's been reported that the Magic's GPS is down, hazarding a guess it has been an issue. Edited January 16, 2017 by sanmarcosman
cruisin31312 Posted January 16, 2017 #4 Share Posted January 16, 2017 I noticed that on the Magic as well on both December cruises. I enjoy having that information available. Hope it is fixed soon. Drazil65 Posted January 16, 2017 #5 Share Posted January 16, 2017 Week before Christmas did not show the GPS/weather info on cabin TV, seems like it was there (I remember seeing the ship route and where we were) until late Sunday that weekend then went to nature shots. coevan Posted January 16, 2017 #7 Share Posted January 16, 2017 We are on the Magic now and still no chart. Obviously the GPS is not down, they are not using a sextant. Guest services said the link to the chart system is down. Two months should have been plenty of time to fix it
Sweet Dutch Girl Posted January 16, 2017 #8 Share Posted January 16, 2017 We are on the Magic now and still no chart. Obviously the GPS is not down, they are not using a sextant. Guest services said the link to the chart system is down. Two months should have been plenty of time to fix it Wish your optimism would spill over into the real world....have been waiting 3 months for the necessary data communications equipment to finish up a new tenant office space. Fixing or installing something is not always the problem. In this high tech world of ours sometimes finding one small part can stall a "fix" for a good long time.
