GRAYTech Posted January 31, 2017 #26 Share Posted January 31, 2017 (edited) We sail on her Mar. 5....are there accessible ports on the tv to play your own device? We were in CB E733 January 2017 and the TV by the couch had an unused HDMI port that we plugged an Apple TV into and were able to switch the input on the TV using the TV remote. Worked great for playing music / watching videos and photos from the day. Edited January 31, 2017 by GRAYTech
OCruisers Posted January 31, 2017 #27 Share Posted January 31, 2017 We were on Caribbean Princess for 22 days (1-6-17 thru 1-28-17) in a mini suite (Dolphin Deck, Mid-ship). Our bed had the newer pillow top mattress which was quite comfortable. No need for an egg crate. Also, our fridge keep drinks very cold. Service throughout the ship was great. :)

bec funky Posted February 1, 2017 Author #30 Share Posted February 1, 2017 We we're in an inside room on this trip. I may go ahead and book this ship to the Panama Canal next year. Especially since they will have new beds. I had heard suites had new beds. Enjoyed this cruise so much!

I doubt you can change the input with that remote (pictured below).

Unlike the remote shown above the TV's on the CB are still the older style as GRAYTech mentioned which have an HDMI port on the rear and can you can use the remote to switch the input. 2BCruising Posted February 1, 2017 #34 Share Posted February 1, 2017 Hubby and I were on the same cruise, but B2B: 8-day Southern and 6-day Western. This was our best cruise with the Caribbean Princess. We were in a mini-suite and we thought the ship was in great ship for its age. We had a new mattress in our cabin. I noticed on both embarkation days in FLL, they were replacing mattresses as I saw a huge bin on the dock with the old mattresses. Every day the crew was doing some maintenance and upkeep. There were Italian contractors onboard doing some work...ahead of the dry dock activities. One day I saw a few on our Dolphin deck 9 hall with ladders. The food in the Horizon Court buffet was an overall improvement from our last Caribbean Princess cruise from 3 years ago. Enjoyed the Caribbean and Indian nights they offered there. Don't miss the International Crew Show. Talented crew on this ship. They had the show on the 8-day cruise, but not on the 6-day. Had a wonderful time in Curaçao, Aruba, Bonaire, Costa Maya, Belize, and Cozumel. This was probably the best itinerary we've experienced so far. I blogged about our adventure and have a lot of snorkeling photos. For those of you going on the Caribbean Princess, no worries. You are going to have a blast. Rare 5:00_Somewhere Posted February 1, 2017 #35 Share Posted February 1, 2017 Have they added the Salty Dog to the Wheelhouse on the CB yet? We board on 3/11 and are hoping to find the good ol' Wheelhouse we know and love. :)

OCruisers Posted February 4, 2017 #41 Share Posted February 4, 2017 No, but some times they set up for playing cards and board games in a dining room or specialty restaurant that is not using during the daytime. Sabatini's was being used as the "Game Room" (Unhosted) -- Bridge, chess, checkers, mahjong, board games. My friend normally played Bridge and/or Mahjong in the afternoons until about 3 o'clock. Go-Bucks! Posted February 4, 2017 #42 Share Posted February 4, 2017 (edited) Some time ago the casino was moved to Deck 7 and the Crown Grill, Future Cruises, Excursion desk relocated to Deck 6 where I believe the casino used to be. That area is all richly paneled and looks fantastic. I don't know if this work was done when they added the Intl Cafe, Wine Bar, and store on Deck 5 and Club Fusion on Deck 7 aft. We hadn't been on the ship since it was newish back in the early 2000's. By 2011 this had already been done, as well as they added the Window Suites on Deck 6 which we stayed in. They were fantastic! I'll be on the CB on 3/11/17 and am hoping that our Emerald Deck minisuite will have the new beds. (Oh, please, please!). Even with the egg crates I have always been uncomfortable. floridalover5623 Posted February 6, 2017 #49 Share Posted February 6, 2017 I have not embarked in FLL.before. Does Princess adhere to boarding times, or is it a free for all? Most people will be on the ship around noon and no it's not a free for all. They line up outside the building in an orderly fashion. There are 2 lines- regular & preferred. Once inside the terminal everyone gets seated & they be called in order to the check-in desk.
