Rare Copper10-8 Posted January 24, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 24, 2017 Just wondering how often Ships Captains and Cruise Directors are rotated between Ships. Sent from my XT1650 using Forums mobile app Captains, usually between three and five years with exceptions. CD's are frequently assigned to different ships. An exception there is CD Gene Moimoi Young who has been assigned to the grand world voyage on Amsterdam for several years now

OlsSalt Posted January 24, 2017 #4 Share Posted January 24, 2017 (edited) Captains, usually between three and five years with exceptions. CD's are frequently assigned to different ships. An exception there is CD Gene Moimoi Young who has been assigned to the grand world voyage on Amsterdam for several years now Gene Young is absolutely one of the best. A total joy to be on his ship, and his ship does seem to be the flagship, Amsterdam. 52 delightful days with him on Tales of the South Pacific, part of the almost full "Polynesian" staffing. However, Gene would be superb in any setting. People often ask if a CD even matters. When you get a really good one like Gene, you know that it does. It is one of those intangibles that makes just good, great. Gooooood morning, Amsterdam! Edited January 24, 2017 by OlsSalt

take us away Posted January 24, 2017 #6 Share Posted January 24, 2017 Do love the repeating world crew with Captains Jonathan and Thomas, the Mesnick's and Gene! Makes a special cruise even better.
OlsSalt Posted January 24, 2017 #7 Share Posted January 24, 2017 What is CD Gene's charm? Sunny personality, self-effacing, quick mind and intelligent wit.
silvercruiser Posted January 25, 2017 #8 Share Posted January 25, 2017 Mario was the best CD I've ever had in hundreds of days of cruising. He kept us happy through the constant rainy weather last spring in the South Pacific and made it less painful to be missing several islands.
