Jayjoy93 Posted February 2, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 2, 2017 We are staying at the Hotel Arts late May. Has anyone stayed here? How was it? Is it easy to walk to some of the tourist spots from here? Sent from my SM-G930T using Forums mobile app
EnricM Posted February 2, 2017 #2 Share Posted February 2, 2017 (edited) What are "the tourist spots" to you? This is a city of 2 million inhabitants, not a theme park, so there are plenty of "things" visited by tourists all over the city. Hotel Arts is located in one of the marinas, the Port Olimpic. It has several bus lines and a metro line and it's by the beach. There's also a promenade by the sea linking with La Barceloneta beach. In the marina there are restaurants, a number of night clubs and a casino. The hotel is an impressive luxurious tower of 44 storeys -from which the last 6 are private apartments. However, I probably wouldn't choose it as base camp as it's a bit far from the centre and walking back in the evening can be a bit 'lonely' in certain stretches of the journey. Yet you say "we are staying", so since it's "done" already... :))) Edited February 2, 2017 by EnricM
SuiteTraveler Posted February 3, 2017 #3 Share Posted February 3, 2017 2 miles from the port 1 mile from La Rambla You might consider Hotel 1898 or Le Meridien to be closer to the attractions of Barcelona but still in a luxury property.
whisker2193 Posted February 2, 2018 #4 Share Posted February 2, 2018 so what did you think of Hotel Arts? We have loads of Marriott points so we chose this as our base for 2 nights pre-cruise this June. Was it a practical location to stay? Any tips for exploring the city from this locale? Thanks and hope you enjoyed your trip!
Rare Keith1010 Posted February 5, 2018 #5 Share Posted February 5, 2018 We have stayed there. We enjoyed our stay. It is not right near the sites but personally I liked that as it was a quieter location. Keith

When you arrive see how much it costs to upgrade and get club lounge access. Keith

Rare Hlitner Posted February 5, 2018 #9 Share Posted February 5, 2018 Hotel Arts is a fabulous facility.....but it is a bit far from our favorite "go to" neighborhood which is the Gothic Quarter. It is a great way to use points :). If you like to take long walks you will be fine. But if coming back to your hotel late at night you might want to splurge on a taxi.
