Rare steamboats Posted February 23, 2019 #454 Share Posted February 23, 2019 I don´t think there´s any specific reason for the time - the harbor basin can be closed by a lock and Papenburg is way up the Ems river - no tide there. Weather and wind are ususally the only reasons for delays as the way through the door of the buiding hall is let´s say very tight. The only reason I can think of is that they simply need til Monday to work on the ship inside the hall and get everything ready for the float out. On one of the recent NDR videos it´s mentioned that two thrusters and some hull paint was still missing by the time of the video (this week). steamboats
cgncruiser Posted February 23, 2019 #455 Share Posted February 23, 2019 The tide is a critical factor in Papenburg. Monday is more favorable with low tide at only -0.04m and high tide at 3.99m

Rare Oceansaway17 Posted February 25, 2019 #470 Share Posted February 25, 2019 Yes i too am watching the shipyard give birth to the newest Quantum ship. I will be on the Ovation in May in Alaska. Anyone know what the black boxy area on back of ship is for. Tug not using.

ticketsunlimited Posted February 25, 2019 #473 Share Posted February 25, 2019 have not read through the whole thread but I am surprised to see no skyloft suites on the back. Concierge lounge also moved I assume.
