Clarea Posted March 6, 2017 #4 Share Posted March 6, 2017 Any Marriott properties near there? Closest one we found was the Springhill Suites Seattle Downtown / South Lake Union.
Angelsea57 Posted March 6, 2017 #5 Share Posted March 6, 2017 Good info. Good to know for future cruises. Thanks
crzndeb Posted March 6, 2017 #6 Share Posted March 6, 2017 Pier 91 is about 3 miles north of downtown core. There are no hotels close. Keep in mind, Seattle hotels are very expensive during the cruise season (and summer in general). Make sure to check the Westcoast Departure board for lots of threads about hotels in Seattle. Taxi's from downtown to Pier 91 will usually run about $10-
Rare BecciBoo Posted March 6, 2017 #7 Share Posted March 6, 2017 Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express are the closest...we stayed there, short 10 minute ride in TAXI...next to the space needle. Also walked to eat just a couple blocks in all directions are the best eats in Seattle. We loved the 5 Point Cafe for pub food: Fried Mac n Cheese mmmmmmmm
reallyitsmema Posted March 6, 2017 #8 Share Posted March 6, 2017 Any Marriott properties near there? Marriott Waterfront is across from Pier 66 and a short taxi ride to Pier 91.
jalves Posted March 8, 2017 #9 Share Posted March 8, 2017 We stayed at the Marriott Waterfront two years ago and it was fine. A bit awkward to get to. The topography of the city is such that there is a huge hill right behind the Marriott which you climb (there are elevators spaced along the waterfront) to get up to the business/shopping part of the city. JMHDisney Posted March 10, 2017 #10 Share Posted March 10, 2017 Pier 91 is in a completely different area than the downtown piers. It's not like if you stay at Pier 66 you are a couple blocks over - you are leaving downtown and heading past a semi-industrial area. So, any hotel in the north end of downtown or near Seattle Center is going to be pretty equal in terms of time to port (about 10 mins depending on traffic). There's nothing touristy near Pier 91. Jasperdo Posted March 11, 2017 #11 Share Posted March 11, 2017 Here are a few photos from Pier 91. The first gives an overview of the pier area, and the second shows how far it is from downtown Seattle:
VPIcruiser Posted March 11, 2017 #12 Share Posted March 11, 2017 Last August we stayed downtown and loved using the city pass to explore Seattle. We stayed at the Mottiff before the cruise and the Sheraton afterwards. We Ubered to and from airport and the Explorer. I asked a neighbor who travels to Seattle regularly for work and she suggested Uber and it worked out great.

I was thinking of allowing 40 mins if traffic maybe heavy?! Thanks
woodyren Posted March 12, 2017 #14 Share Posted March 12, 2017 We are staying at the Hyatt Place Seattle Downtown. Is there any public transport that will get us from Pier 91 to that area?
