Ajat0921 Posted March 24, 2017 #26 Share Posted March 24, 2017 I don't, but I do put a magnet on it for the workers to know, my son is autistic https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ZSDVKIU/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=2NYZSO9KNNMPN&coliid=IQV66BHBMHW97 But then again my future sailing is an Autism of the Sea,
secondchance Posted March 26, 2017 #27 Share Posted March 26, 2017 I have never had a problem with door decorations I have put up. I use the foam sheets with designs that I put on it such as shells, boats, etc. My granddaughter and I made our first ones as we took our first cruise together. I still have it! cat29 Posted March 26, 2017 #28 Share Posted March 26, 2017 My DD has vision problems and I'm not sure he'll be able to read the cabin numbers. I was thinking of making some small sign in a bright neon color to help him find his cabin if he should ever want to go to it on his own.
lmsdf Posted March 27, 2017 #29 Share Posted March 27, 2017 We always put a few decorations on our door. We use command strips for easy removal. Great way to find our room. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Forums mobile app

Crusin Karen Posted March 27, 2017 #31 Share Posted March 27, 2017 My DD has vision problems and I'm not sure he'll be able to read the cabin numbers. I was thinking of making some small sign in a bright neon color to help him find his cabin if he should ever want to go to it on his own. I think that's a great idea! :D You could even make a "design #" with different shapes, etc. I remember way back on another cruise forum they had group cruises once/year and there was always a door decorating contest! I am going to bring my cruise history sign and my wake picture and poems and just keep my fingers crossed.
map92 Posted March 28, 2017 #32 Share Posted March 28, 2017 Went on a "Girls cruise" a few years ago and we had a door decorating contest, had a blast . Check the website of the cruise line for restrictions and guidelines.
EdmundXXIII Posted March 28, 2017 #33 Share Posted March 28, 2017 I don't do it. I'm not bothered by it. Occasionally I've seen some really nice ones. To each their own. (In accordance with cruise line policy of course!) Sent from my iPhone using Forums
sanmarcosman Posted March 28, 2017 #34 Share Posted March 28, 2017 I wouldn't think to decorate a door in a hotel and wouldn't on a cruise.

Alaskan Joe Posted March 28, 2017 #36 Share Posted March 28, 2017 My DW and I was just on a Mexican Rivera cruise over last Christmas, on Princess. There was a lot of doors decorated in fact my birthday is 6 days before Christmas so our door was not Christmas stuff rather birthday stuff. I also recall that Princess put a Christmas decoration on every mail box:D.

cruizergal70 Posted March 29, 2017 #38 Share Posted March 29, 2017 I wouldn't think to decorate a door in a hotel and wouldn't on a cruise. My sentiments exactly.
cruisemom67 Posted March 30, 2017 #39 Share Posted March 30, 2017 Its fun to decorate doors....as for hotel rooms, if you have kids in sports who are competitive, you may have decorated hotel room doors. It's your home for a few days. Make it fun! Our next cruise is our 25th anniversary, and we have a celebration poster we will hang. ray98 Posted March 30, 2017 #40 Share Posted March 30, 2017 I wouldn't think to decorate a door in a hotel and wouldn't on a cruise. Yup....it isn't popular at all with 'normal' people.
Drazil65 Posted March 30, 2017 #41 Share Posted March 30, 2017 The most popular time we have seen decorations is Christmas time for the most part. We do not and have never done it, we are in the camp that we would not decorate a hotel door so we would not even think to do it on a cruise I guess. We have not seen many decorations in the last few years outside of the holiday doors but even that is not as popular as it once was. Maybe if you have a large theme group cruising together you may see more decorations but other than that and the holidays, not popular anymore. cruisemom67 Posted March 30, 2017 #42 Share Posted March 30, 2017 It's probably not as popular because of the restrictions. Everything has to be fire retardant. And as for those who rudely said 'normal' people don't do it...I am QUITE sure you have done things in your life that aren't "normal." If not, you have lived a very boring life!
