Sunny AZ Girl Posted March 26, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 26, 2017 We just booked a forward facing extra-large ocean view cabin for the September 2018 Trans-Atlantic crossing on the Brilliance (cabin 7000). We had a forward area OV on the Harmony TA and loved it. We saw the forward facing OV at that time and was impressed with the extra space. We were wondering if anyone would have a picture or any experience with that category cabin that they would share. We know we have to keep the curtains closed at night to prevent light interference with the bridge and that is ok. But are we allowed to open them to look out if the lights in the cabin are all turned out? Would love to see the lights outside of the ship at night! Also, the motion does not bother us. We know there will be a lot more motion felt that far forward.

We've had 8500 Jewel and (9200 on Navigator) and never had anyone advise us that they needed to be closed. The bridge windows are tinted and I don't think there will be a glare issue. Perhaps someone else can confirm from their experience. Edited March 26, 2017 by leaveitallbehind
cb at sea Posted March 27, 2017 #3 Share Posted March 27, 2017 IF they need to be closed because of the lights, and you turn off ALL the lights...it will be fine to open the curtains..
familyofg Posted March 27, 2017 #4 Share Posted March 27, 2017 We stayed in 7504 on Brilliance. We closed the curtains at night and usually kept them closed during the day because the sun beating in made it uncomfortably warm if they were open. It is a different room than 7000, but the views were always lovely.
sj25 Posted March 27, 2017 #5 Share Posted March 27, 2017 We had 7002 on the Serenade and loved it. We found the room was bigger and the space that is by the window to look out is 6ft by 6ft...it's above and behind the curtains. We didn't have a problem with the sunlight making it warm in there.
