LewLewBelle Posted March 30, 2017 #26 Share Posted March 30, 2017 Got it today and filled it out. Hit them hard on smoking in the casinos. Sent from my iPhone using Forums Me too!
BDRebel Posted March 30, 2017 #27 Share Posted March 30, 2017 So how do you suppose it happened? Sprinklers are nothing but valves. The valve is held closed by a little plastic (or metal) piece. When the piece melts, the valve opens and water sprays. It is possible that the little plastic piece simply broke on its own, or may have been assisted with a surge in water pressure, or a combination of both. The vape cloud had nothing to do with it. CharlesKru Posted March 30, 2017 #29 Share Posted March 30, 2017 Received and completed. Suggested they look at smoking, and that they re-evaluate the point rating system for table games. I never get anything comped, but I play enough that at a vegas casino I am getting into their middle to higher tier point system each time I pay. Would be nice to earn the DOU card from the Craps table... I am dropping usually around a grand a cruise on the table these days.
Rare Tom-n-Cheryl Posted March 30, 2017 #30 Share Posted March 30, 2017 I didn't get it but wish I had. The smoking on the Vista is the worst. The casino bar is huge and round right in the middle of the casino. All the drunks, who are not gambling, sit there by the droves and yell at each other. Some idiot with a vape set off the sprinklers and the bar was closed for the next day for cleanup. I never saw such a huge cloud come out of one of these and he was aiming it at the sprinklers. Sounds like the losers around the Liberty casino bar a couple of weeks ago. We've been on a lot of cruises, and have never seen this level of drunkenness and disgusting behavior. However, this could be because I was spending time at the bar and not the tables. In the past, I was "blinded" to both the smoke and shenanigans as my concentration was on the table. One fellow who was old enough (~60) to know better, one would like to think, was posing for portraits just down from the bar and decided it would be fun to drop his pants for the photo with his two friends. This occurred just as I walked by and the guy taking the photos just turned around in disbelief. I looked right at him and gave him a look which conveyed: "sorry, this is a drunkard on Carnival, and this is what we all expect... good luck". It's amazing how much one look can say! BTW - yes, I also received the survey and promptly deleted it. Carnival is a big part of our cruising life, but that's more a thing of the past as other lines are a better fit for us. I found this article interesting. I have no idea how cruise ship fire suppression systems work, but it appears that a vape cloud setting one off isn't so far fetched. It could just as well been a coincidence. https://www.ecigarettedirect.co.uk/ashtray-blog/2015/05/electronic-cigarettes-smoke-detector-warning.html
pe4all Posted March 30, 2017 #32 Share Posted March 30, 2017 I also received a survey, and commented on the smokiness of the (Splendor) casino.

cccer Posted March 31, 2017 #35 Share Posted March 31, 2017 I went on two cruises last year and got two surveys this year. I'm not sure which survey was for which ship.
Boozebabe Posted March 31, 2017 #36 Share Posted March 31, 2017 Yes I received it and completed it. Almost instantly after submitting it my HUSBAND gets a Premier Casino Offer. Go figure. I spend the big bucks at the tables and he gets offers for piddly play at the slots. Makes no sense. I do 3 or 4 grand at the tables and he spends a measly $500 bucks on slots and they offer him Free drinks in casino and free play. I hate their strategy.
