Rare Shippy Posted April 5, 2017 #1 Share Posted April 5, 2017 Just back from the Divina & this must be a fairly new promotion as we were never offered it before. Actually did a lot less gambling this trip. I play penny slots although the bet can be $150 or $2.00 per spin. I went to the casino for about 1/2 hour each night after dinner. Towards the end of the 4th nights visit, a lady came to my machine & called me by name. She had a paper in her hand & said I qualified for a next cruise discount. Apparently you only need 1200 points to qualify & I was already getting close to 2,000. I was really quite surprised how generous it was....30% off any cabin...not for just me but for the entire cabin price. Any category and you can book through any agent. With a bonus $150. cash at the casino on my next trip. How could I pass this by ??? As soon as I got home I started searching for my next cruise. I just booked a Yacht Club suite on the new Seaside through an Internet TA. I called MSC & they took 30% off ! The Internet TA is throwing in prepaid gratuities and $200.00 OBC The TA said he will call back MSC tomorrow to get them to add my additional 5% discount for having a black card....got my Black Card through the status match program because we are Diamond on Royal Caribbean. Our Divina trip was great. Cannot wait to see the new Seaside.

I got €50 OBC with each. 1200 points = 30% discount off future cruise. Must be booked within 2 months of voucher date for a sailing within 9 months. 7500 points = free cruise in inside cabin. 10000 points = free cruise in oceanview cabin. 14000 points = free cruise in balcony cabin. 22000 points = free cruise in Yacht Club. Rare Reds4life Posted April 5, 2017 #5 Share Posted April 5, 2017 Is each dollar put through the slot machine worth a point?
Rare Beamafar Posted April 6, 2017 #6 Share Posted April 6, 2017 (edited) They want you to lose more $$$ than the 30% discount. The discount far exceeded what I put into the machines :') and the value for the cruise I booked is worth 3 times more than what my losses were. :p Edited April 6, 2017 by Beamafar
Rare Beamafar Posted April 6, 2017 #7 Share Posted April 6, 2017 Is each dollar put through the slot machine worth a point? I can only go on what I played and I certainly didn't put in anything like $/€1200 to gain 1200 points. Also, every 500 points can be converted to €5 free play on the slots without it impacting on the discount deal. Or you can choose an MSC logo gift - different items require a different number of points.
KarimaJ Posted April 6, 2017 #8 Share Posted April 6, 2017 The way I look at it, people who enjoy gambling will gamble no matter what. Doesn't matter what they lose/gain. So they should go with whatever cruiseline gives them the best perks. Sounds better then NCL, their program says for slots $5 = 1 point.

My first cruise is May 27, but I've been to plenty of casinos :D
Viva123 Posted April 6, 2017 #10 Share Posted April 6, 2017 That sounds great, we will be sailing in the yacht club on the Divina in three weeks and will definitely be in the casino every night. I just wish we knew what dollar amount equals what amount of points? And how does this work with Most table games?
BethV114 Posted April 6, 2017 #11 Share Posted April 6, 2017 Apparently you only need 1200 points to qualify & I was already getting close to 2,000. Out of curiosity, do you recall approximately how much you had gambled when you found out you were near the 2,000 point mark. We don't gamble much, but my husband has mentioned playing a few hands and I always like to make a few donations to the slot machines. It probably wouldn't amount to 1,200 points, but who knows? Teachmath1 Posted April 7, 2017 #12 Share Posted April 7, 2017 I am almost positive you get 1 point per 1 dollar spent in slots. If you are playing $1.50-$2 slots, it would probably be done in about 2 hours by the time you win $10-$20 here and there.
Rare Beamafar Posted April 19, 2017 #13 Share Posted April 19, 2017 That's a great deal. I assume that you swipe your cruise card and use your onboard account to play? My first cruise is May 27, but I've been to plenty of casinos :D You need to set up an account. It's very easy - insert your card in the machine. You'll receive directions then on how to set up the account. You then use the 4 digit pin you've inputted each time you want to access credit. Keep your cruisecard in the machine as you play - your points will show as you go along. You don't have to use your onboard account - you can play with cash.
