11 days in the Mediterranean-How does this sound?t

I'm trying to finalize touring plans for our group of 8. Please tell me if it makes sense or let me know what would work better.

 

I'm cross posting in Italy because of our ports.

Heraklion - public bus to Knossos Palace and Heraklion Archeological Musem

 

Rhodes - walk to Old City and tour on our own. Perhaps visit a beach (Eli or Faliraki) in the afternoon

 

Athens - X80 into Athens and back - tour on our own using Rick Steve's guides. We'll definitely be seeing the Acropolis and the National Archaeological Museum.

 

Mykonos - boat trip to Delos

Possibly taking public buses to the beach in the afternoon

 

Santorini - boat to Oia

 

Valletta, Malta - walking in Valletta then maybe a public bus to Rabat (Mdina)

 

Messina - private tour including Taormina and Mt. Eatna

 

Naples - public tram/Circumvesuviana to Pompeii

 

Rome (3 days) - public transportation

Colosseum-underground tour, Forum, Palantine Hill

Rick Steve's Heart of Rome walk

Rick Steve's Dolce Vita stroll

Vatican -St Peter's - Vatican Museum Friday night tour

Trying to decide between seeing catacombs, the Appian way or Museum (Borghese or National Museum)
