jbecker6469 Posted April 15, 2017 #1 Share Posted April 15, 2017 Does anyone know if the oval, height adjustable tables we have found on other HAL ships can be arranged for in the K'dam staterooms? The little "cube" in the room, nor the tiny round table on the veranda are suitable for dining. We were thinking about bringing a roll-up table typically used for camping so we can set it up in or our of the room when we want to have a room service meal. Any thoughts? Thanks, Jim
Love the beach Posted April 15, 2017 #2 Share Posted April 15, 2017 Our inside cabin didn't have any table at all. We had to put the room service tray on the dresser. Didn't look to see if other cabins had a table.
Mtn2Sea Posted April 15, 2017 #3 Share Posted April 15, 2017 We are currently on the Koningsdam. The veranda cabin & vista suite have a small cube table in the cabin. The vista suite has a "wicker" foot rest on the balacony that might be used as a table. Neither of these cabins have the oval table found on the older HAL ships. mame42 Posted April 15, 2017 #4 Share Posted April 15, 2017 Lack of suitable tables on the Koningsdam might lead one to believe that HAL intends to discourage room service in the future.
jbecker6469 Posted April 25, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted April 25, 2017 Just received a reply from HAL. The Ship Services department checked with the ship and got this reply. We'll see what it looks like when we get on board. Hopefully it will not take up too much of the precious floor space. "The Executive Housekeeper onboard the ms Koningsdam has advised that they will be able to accommodate your request to have a larger coffee table placed in your stateroom for the duration of your cruise." Have been thinking about getting an aluminum "roll up" table, like what is used for camping. That way we could roll it up when we didn't need it, or put it outside on the verandah. They don't weigh much and should fit in a large suitcase. Still learning what to do to be more comfortable.
Rare cbr663 Posted April 25, 2017 #6 Share Posted April 25, 2017 Thanks so much for the update. I will now also see if I can get HAL to put a larger, adjustable coffee table in our cabin for our upcoming K cruise. Time to call my TA. :)

We could have used one of those on our boat, but never knew about them.. They would be great to take on board to use as a dining table, if they are not too heavy to carry.. Found them on Amazon.. I'm amazed! Thanks again, just might buy one to have as an extra in our condo & maybe take it on our next cruise..we enjoy having breakfast in our Cabin once in a while but always found the coffee table too small..
