jo-v Posted April 18, 2017 #1 Share Posted April 18, 2017 Booked 14 days on Serenade of the Seas, Caribbean 2018. Have sailed with Carnival, Norwegian, Princess, Holland America, and Celebrity. Have always wanted to try RCI.... What can we expect relative to the other lines we have been on. Ship size of the Serenade and itinerary is the reason for booking. Clarea Posted April 18, 2017 #2 Share Posted April 18, 2017 RC allows two bottles of wine per stateroom, no corkage fees anywhere you bring the wine on the ship.
Biker19 Posted April 21, 2017 #3 Share Posted April 21, 2017 Just read some Serenade related threads to get a feel of what to expect.
waverley7 Posted July 11, 2017 #4 Share Posted July 11, 2017 Hi Jo! We are also trying Royal Caribbean for the first time in 2018.
Rare Kellie in Texas Posted July 11, 2017 #5 Share Posted July 11, 2017 Since you've cruised on other lines, be aware that RCCL does not have self-serve laundry rooms on any ships. They have laundry services that you can pay for, but they are expensive. We had cruised Princess and Carnival prior to RCCL, so that was a surprise to me. That being said, our first RCCL cruise was last year on Serenade and I absolutely loved that ship. The Windjammer buffet has an open-air seating area at the very back of the ship; we spent a lot of time out there, even in the evenings, and we were oftentimes the only people out there. bay guy Posted July 11, 2017 #6 Share Posted July 11, 2017 We did the Christmas/New Years cruise last year on Serenade and loved the ship. Food in MDR was very good and the crew was very friendly. Entertainment was excellent as well. Wouldn't hesitate to sail on her again. We were a little worried that we'd been spoiled by the entertainment extravaganza on the Oasis class ships prior to sailing Serenade but found our worries to be unfounded.
