shorti503 Posted April 20, 2017 #1 Share Posted April 20, 2017 We are taking a 7 night northbound Alaskan cruise this June. After the cruise we are spending 5 extra days exploring Alaska. I know we can get a car seat from the rental car company but we would prefer to bring our own. If we chose to bring our own is that something that can be stored somewhere in the ship or would we have to make room in our cabin for it?

OSUZorba Posted April 20, 2017 #3 Share Posted April 20, 2017 Use it to pack some booze and get them to hold it until the end of the cruise for you.

It will probably fit easily on the floor of your stateroom closet.

hello kitty Posted July 6, 2017 #6 Share Posted July 6, 2017 Just curious if you went on your cruise to Alaska with your little one? Did you need the car seat for excursions?

jamesr3939 Posted July 9, 2017 #8 Share Posted July 9, 2017 Just curious if you went on your cruise to Alaska with your little one? Did you need the car seat for excursions? It's dependent on the classification of the tour vehicle.
Chellek Posted July 11, 2017 #9 Share Posted July 11, 2017 It's dependent on the classification of the tour vehicle. How would we figure out the tour vehicles? Or do you just bring the car seat anyway?
cb at sea Posted July 11, 2017 #10 Share Posted July 11, 2017 You can find a corner in the cabin to put the seat...if all else fails, put it in the shower when you're not bathing!
Havingfun2010 Posted July 11, 2017 #11 Share Posted July 11, 2017 Place car seat in closet, than throw your shoes and other stuff on top. Be extra careful, and eventually slam the door shut. Just be careful when opening it. Laundry shifts on rough seas

If we chose to bring our own is that something that can be stored somewhere in the ship or would we have to make room in our cabin for it? Years ago when my youngest was 6 months we took a cruise on Mariner and spent time at Universal first. I had two strollers with me - a full size one for Universal and a smaller one for the ship. Our room steward took the full size one and stored for me while we were on the ship and brought back to me the last night. Not sure if this is still possible, but I would ask room steward when you get to room. Can't hurt to ask.
BDsquared Posted July 12, 2017 #13 Share Posted July 12, 2017 Our stroller fit under the bed, car seat fit nicely in the closet :)
