topnole Posted April 25, 2017 #27 Share Posted April 25, 2017 Maybe they will refund you the 25 but the cruises I've been on it is clear that you are required to return the pool towels to the pool attendants or pay 25. So I'd have to say if you are asking for the 25 back you certainly are asking them for something they don't owe you. If all of us just left our checked out towels in the room or wherever how would they possibly account for them and many would take them home. I personally would pay the 25 and tell myself not to forget again.

Not worth the space in the luggage.

I remember one day leaving St. Croix, seeing a sea of blue towels left on the beach next to the pier.
sea shepherd Posted April 25, 2017 #31 Share Posted April 25, 2017 I got the $25 dollar charge for a towel one time. I was on a B2B and had the same room. So I had a towel in my room, on turn around I got my bill and there it was. So I went down to guest services and told them I'm sill here and not leaving and have the towel still. [emoji3] She laughed and took it off my bill. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Rare island lady Posted April 25, 2017 #32 Share Posted April 25, 2017 Our Serenade trip last week did not scan at all. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Forums mobile app Was it a sea day John? Some ships we have been on don't charge on sea days...just port days. That's what we found on the first two days and the last two days on Serenade in February. Those were the only sea days, port heavy mid cruise so they were charging during those days.
Rare island lady Posted April 25, 2017 #33 Share Posted April 25, 2017 If RCI would credit me $25 for every pool towel I turned in I would single-handedly solve the chair hog issue on my sailings. :D That's pretty funny. I had thought the same thing on various occasions. ;p
Rare island lady Posted April 25, 2017 #34 Share Posted April 25, 2017 One more reason to get a cash account! I am leaning in that direction also. Really, really tired of the bogus mini bar charges AFTER we get back.

I still have these two bottles untouched!! You can take these off your future charges!"

As much as I love cruising getting sick of their garbage. It is a pity;)

Same on our a B2B cruise on the Jewel (2 April and 9 April). Sea days they didn't scan for pool towels. Port days they did at the pool and at the gangway. I have not gone that far....yet anyway, as to leave my sea pass account as cash. Wonder how many have done that, and the "dong" of a bogus charge sends them back in? Hmmm....:o

Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Forums mobile app Ah yes....once again the one consistent thing you can count on with RCI from ship to ship, or in this case...itinerary to itinerary date...is inconsistency. ;p
tropiclvrs Posted April 25, 2017 #42 Share Posted April 25, 2017 On Allure I questioned the authenticity of their scanning process. I would always ask for and return multiple towels at a time for my family. Sometimes I would see them punch in a number while scanning and sometimes not.
