jeffvb9 Posted April 26, 2017 #26 Share Posted April 26, 2017 Hey all... I've booked a spa balcony on the Escape in June and wondering if anyone has had a room at the opening to the stairs/elevators? Hopefully it won't be too noisy? Sent from my iPhone using Forums We went on the Escape in Feb booking a spa balcony on the 15th deck right in the opening to the stairs/elevator. Absolutely loved it with no issues noise wise at all. We are going again, same room only on the opposite of ship, end of May. gizfish Posted April 26, 2017 #27 Share Posted April 26, 2017 Looking at the deck plans now that you have told us the cabin number, you are EXACTLY in the area we were in on breakaway with regards to the opening to the elevator/stair area. As I said in my previous post, rooms near the elevator are generally not an issue because the wall blocks everything. But in your case, nothing blocks anything and I stand by my saying it is a very, very, very band location! Good luck! Thanks for all the comments!I'm in room 15154, directly at the opening, with sun deck above and rooms below. I do stay up rather late so noise in the morning may be of more concern for me. Plan on using the spa a lot and so many activities to take advantage of as well as making a donation in the casino [emoji13] Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Java Lover Posted April 27, 2017 #29 Share Posted April 27, 2017 I was in 15158 on Escape last week which was two rooms down from the elevator/stairs and had no noise issues whatsoever.
LrgPizza Posted April 27, 2017 #30 Share Posted April 27, 2017 We purposely seek out cabins as close to the stairs/elevators as possible. We've never had a noise issue. I absolutely hate walking up and down those long, skinny corridors.

Buttwig Posted April 27, 2017 #33 Share Posted April 27, 2017 Same here and since we use white noise, hallway noise is rarely an issue for us. That pic reminds me of The Shining...REDRUM! Heck NO! don't-use-real-name Posted April 27, 2017 #35 Share Posted April 27, 2017 Something ODD about that 2nd photo - absence of cabin steward service carts including the cabin steward and traffic in the passageway ! And the lack of room service dishes and the alike - what's happening here ? Lights Camera Quiet on the Set ACTION - I said ACTION - must be a staged event ! The passageway is way TOO short - where is the infinity view 3 soccer/football field in depth ! Where was that photo taken doesn't look like a cruise ship passageway - looks the a posh corridor in a 6 star hotel - handrails added for the drunks to navigate to their quarters and no fish swimming in the carpet ! OK cut me some slack here - Ah er this isn't the Comedy Critic Forum - as for that photo what magnificent ship was that taken on - certainly not the good ship lollipop ! newmexicoNita Posted April 28, 2017 #38 Share Posted April 28, 2017 our cabins of choice: as mentioned, never get lost even if you had one too many, never have to walk a mile to use the elevators or stairs and absolutely no noise. I hear noise from other things but not from the location being too close to the elevators. Just off the BA, we were right there and loved it. NCLfamily Posted April 28, 2017 #40 Share Posted April 28, 2017 We usually pick a cabin near the stairs and hence elevators and usually under the GC or pool. Never had an issue. Sent from my iPad using Forums
Robinola Posted April 28, 2017 #41 Share Posted April 28, 2017 I have been on many cruises where I have chosen a room close to stairs/elevators. It has never been an issue.
leekel619 Posted April 29, 2017 #42 Share Posted April 29, 2017 My only suggestion is do not get a room on deck 8 aft any where near Bliss. We were in an aft facing balcony last year on 8. Not our first choice but we were bumped out due to a longer Dawn dry dock. Wow. That was loud music all night thumping under our bed. From about 11pm-3 am. Elevators near by would have been a joy. [emoji15] In a week we'll be back in 10230 and it's perfect! So excited.
4774Papa Posted April 29, 2017 #43 Share Posted April 29, 2017 We have had several cabins near or right outside the stairwell with the elevators and never had a problem.
A4Audigirl Posted April 30, 2017 Author #44 Share Posted April 30, 2017 Thanks again for the comments! I'm feeling much better about having the room at the opening to the elevators/stairs. 41 days and counting [emoji267][emoji568]🥂 Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Tiggertastic Posted May 1, 2017 #45 Share Posted May 1, 2017 We always select one near the elevators as I'm just plain lazy at walking down long corridors when we're taking off our own luggage. However we use the deck plan wisely to avoid being near the teen club where they like to congregate on the stairs and to avoid what's above and below. hladygirl Posted May 1, 2017 #46 Share Posted May 1, 2017 I am going to find out. In October 2018. Booked a BA balcony 11612 on the Dawn. Right in front of the mid stairs and elevator. Wanted the larger balcony. It can't be worse than the forward ocean view we had last time. The smashing of the waves hitting the side of the ship was deafening. Hated that cabin. Hope this cabin isn't bad. 14 night cruise.
A4Audigirl Posted May 21, 2017 Author #47 Share Posted May 21, 2017 Only 3 weeks until my cruise... yea!!! I'll let everyone know if there is any kind of problem when I return but I'm thinking I'll love being so close to the elevators!
