travel33 Posted May 2, 2017 #1 Share Posted May 2, 2017 Was curious about how long it took to go by the Statue of Liberty and get to the Verrazano Bridge. Will be leaving in June on the Breakaway, and departure time is 4PM. TIA!

evandbob Posted May 2, 2017 #3 Share Posted May 2, 2017 It's a wonderful journey down the Hudson. You can view the NYC skyline from the left or port side of the ship. You'll pass Midtown, The Chrysler Bldg., the Empire State Bldg. and later the Freedom Tower and Ground Zero area from that side. On the starboard or right side, you'll see Jersey City, several ferry and train depots, and the Statue of Liberty. People will be taking photos of Lady Liberty as you approach, but if you want a photo showing her full face, snap off a few after you pass the Statue. There aren't many better sailaways than this. Homosassa Posted May 2, 2017 #4 Share Posted May 2, 2017 Just an FYI, you will still be in New York City as you pass the statue and the bridge. You will, however, no longer be in Manhattan once you leave the dock.
Rare mskaufman Posted May 2, 2017 #5 Share Posted May 2, 2017 After the Ver. Bridge how close of a look do you get of Coney Island?
travelnap Posted May 2, 2017 #6 Share Posted May 2, 2017 Was curious about how long it took to go by the Statue of Liberty and get to the Verrazano Bridge. Will be leaving in June on the Breakaway, and departure time is 4PM. TIA! It will vary by the amount of traffic on the Hudson. I have done a couple cruises out of Manhattan with NCL and watch the webcam's on weekends. To the Statute of Liberty it's usually between 30 and 40 minutes. To go under the bridge it is usually between 45 minutes and 1 hour. If there is not a lot of traffic and they can get good speed it will be the shorter times. If it is busy on the Hudson then it will be more towards the longer times. copper004 Posted May 2, 2017 #7 Share Posted May 2, 2017 After the Ver. Bridge how close of a look do you get of Coney Island? Minimal view of Coney Island. You can see the skyline of it and should spot the old Parrachute Tower.
