Ltrikones Posted May 6, 2017 #1 Share Posted May 6, 2017 We will be cruising on the Liberty in July in a balcony room. I requested a king room and it has a sofa bed. Does the bed pull out into a bed or is it just the sofa part you seen in the pictures. My son is 6' tall and I want to be sure he will not be hanging off the end of the bed or be uncomfortable. Thanks Lori
cb at sea Posted May 6, 2017 #2 Share Posted May 6, 2017 It's a SOFA BED. It will pull out in some fashion to be at least a twin mattress. Some (if the cabin sleeps 4) will be a double mattress.
wendynat Posted May 6, 2017 #3 Share Posted May 6, 2017 Most of them aren't pull out sofas - usually just remove the back cushions of the sofa and make it up like a bed. My son is about 5'10" and his feet are close to or at the end of the bed, but he sleeps curled on his side so he says it's fine. I think if you look at the deck plans for your ship, you can find your room and the symbols will tell you what kind of bed it is.
bury me at sea Posted May 6, 2017 #4 Share Posted May 6, 2017 6' will be pushing it. But that's pretty tall for any typical bed.
Rare Essiesmom Posted May 7, 2017 #5 Share Posted May 7, 2017 Only foldout beds are in suites. In regular cabins, they just take the bolsters off, throw a pad on and sheets. EM
RWolver672 Posted May 7, 2017 #6 Share Posted May 7, 2017 Our son who is over six feet tall and weighs over 250 slept on one without any problems. He said it was comfortable.

terri-eddie Posted May 8, 2017 #8 Share Posted May 8, 2017 It seems they are different lengths on different ships. Our teenage daughter is 5'10" and on Freedom, her feet hung over the end. On Breeze and Splendor, they didn't.

Rare CruisinCrow Posted May 15, 2017 #11 Share Posted May 15, 2017 We had a balcony cabin on Liberty. I don't know if the sofa pulls out into a bed or not, but here's a picture to give you an idea of how long it is.
Rare CruisinCrow Posted May 15, 2017 #12 Share Posted May 15, 2017 One more pic from a different angle. It's a good size sofa by cruise-cabin standards.

Gamecock_Cruiser Posted June 12, 2017 #15 Share Posted June 12, 2017 I'm 6'2" and just had the honor of sleeping on the sofa bed. It was very comfortable, and yes, my feet hung off the end. They also hang off the end of the normal bed too though on the ship.
