biojeep Posted May 8, 2017 #1 Share Posted May 8, 2017 We will be cruising New England the first week of October with stops in Bar Harbor, Portland, Halifax & St. John. My wife wants to know if we will get to see fall foliage with the available excursions for these ports.
SailBadtheSinner Posted May 8, 2017 #2 Share Posted May 8, 2017 for Bar Harbor, here is no need to book a CL excursion. There are 2 excellent rated (by TripAdvisor) tour companies that offer tours of Acadia National Park. Oli's Trolley Acadia National Park Tours Since you'll be visiting BH at a very popular time for foliage viewing, it would be a good idea to make reservations for the tour of your choice. biojeep Posted May 8, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted May 8, 2017 I sure hope that Acadia National Park provides enough fall foliage scenery for my wife!!
VidaNaPraia Posted May 8, 2017 #4 Share Posted May 8, 2017 It really varies year by year. There are sites online that keep track of such things as the fall progresses and the peak foliage season passes from north to further south.
roomba920 Posted May 13, 2017 #5 Share Posted May 13, 2017 Peak foliage time each year is dependent on the summer weather...such as how much rain fell, as well as whether there was an early frost or dry spell. Generally, Columbus weekend is a good time.

Rare Coral Posted May 16, 2017 #7 Share Posted May 16, 2017 I have gone 2x later then you did and it was early for fall foliage in a lot of the areas. Look at fall foliage network: http://www.foliagenetwork.com You can track the areas for past years.
